Well, Austin, I got hit with 3 hp on my "283" and I was slow to begin with! Such is life!

I will find out on Sat if a fresh motor and trans are going to help! I sure hope so.

Looks like a whole lot of hp to go around to a lot of folks if they follow suit. Me included.

Ive been good this week here at Indy and havent started nothing on the board, BUT i have to reply to Austins post. If your talking about the "egotistical idiot" Bill Hawk (who recently got YOURS and HIS combo HP) you need to know some of the facts. About 2 years ago NHRA came up with the "hawk rule" which wouldnt let him run A/SA. The only way that he could get into A was to put the cast iron 390 heads on the car and get hp to move it up a class. Well, he located a set of heads had them prepped and then went out and purposely got the combo hit. This is what allowed him to run A, at Maple Grove. When we got here we talked it over and figured it was going to take a 9:80 in A/SA to win class. When he built his car it was a D/SA car so it has a 8pt roll bar only no cage. In tech both Travis and Bruce told him if he ran A and went into the 9's that he would be asked to leave the event and not come back till he had a cage in the car. So he just said he would run B. Now if he can go 10:00's in B and 9:80's in A (which i was there when he went faster in B trim) why cant your car? Do you not spend any money on it? Do you not work on it? Billy spends money and we actually work on the car. Almost every week we go and test to see what works and what doesnt. If all you care about is winning the event not class maybe you should take to your local bracket track and try to win the track championship.

Lil Duane, I know all about Hawk and why he is doing what he is. Ive known Bill for a while and "thought" we were friends. Im not just ranting about something i dont know. You DONT know why Hawk is fast...but i do! Without getting into details, lets just say im not willing to do what he does to go that fast. But if you ask people that know me they'll tell you that i am still fast, i never said i wasnt. I just think getting a class hit to run a is B.S! If you wanna run A, build a car that runs a. And if your trying to insult me by suggesting i run for a "track champ" you did a bad job! I think if you look at the standing over the last couple years, my name is WAY ahead of yours. Maybe your the one that should try to win at a local track. P.S. You ever been to Chicago to race in the ALLSTAR race...i have, its fun;)

Sorry i dont race NHRA, IHRA is it for me basically...I know ALOT more about Hawks car then you think and i know what makes the car fast, work, MORGAN, and money. Seems your lacking all three. You claim how fast you are, then getting hp shouldnt really hurt you right? I mean when Billy got hp for the combo he was still 85 pounds heavy. The all star race you talked about...isnt that a bracket race? Thats what i thought. Oh, i forgot to mention the one year i chased points i finished 11th in IHRA. So whats your point there?

If your saying theres something wrong with Billys stuff i know for a fact he has been to tear down 136 times oil pan has been off his cars 30 times and the piston and rod has been out 15 plus times i dont know of any other stocker that has been inspected that many times. So what your saying is NHRA doesnt know how to do there job....?.....if you know something they dont....

Look Lil Duane, I never meant to start anything with you, or Bill for that matter. I dont hate Bill, but EVERYONE knows he has an ego, its shown alot. But he is a very charismatic guy! But I think youre barkin up the wrong tree bud. YOU have no right to accuse me of not working on my car! Ill tell you what, how bout you ask ANY D4 racer about me and see what they say. Heck ask any racer at all that knows me and see what they say. You questioning my work ethic is bogus, you dont know me. If you wanna find out about me, my money, my work ethic, ask Larry Hill, Cummings, Emmons, Fletcher, Peter Biondo or any of the other GREAT racers up in Indy. Ive made it a point to race with honor and sportsmanship, thats why the Hawk thing struck a nerve! Im done with you and this conversation. Good luck this weekend, and congrats on your ONE good season in NHRA, oh wait i mean...IHRA:D

I was just browsing through the class runoffs on Drag Race Central. Seems like a lot of guys gave up the stripe and horked a sure class win for some reason or another.

I know Austin Ford very well, him and David Buckner are two very close friends of mine. Both of them are very nice and helpful people. Austin has helped me with my driving techniques and so has David some. Him and his family are very good people. You couldnt ask for anything more. I Know for a fact that Austin is a very good racer and a hell of a sportsman. Him and his father both are the brains behind the car. That car has been around for a long time along with the Ford family, ask anyone. I know that his car can pass tech anytime if asked to tear down by Mr Roberson or any of the tech personnel.

I can say this anytime you feel froggy and wanna try to run against Austin, you will have your hands full, I know that from hands on experience. Try running class against him at Belle Rose, that would be very interesting and I have a feel who would win.

PS Dont try to out drink them, I couldn't do it and have the dragon t-shirt to prove it.

HOpe your dad has a healthy safe recovery and your family will be in our prayers Austin.
