Re: 128 Car Field Qualifying
See my thread entitled "Dear SRAC Members". It proves that the rule NHRA enacted is not what the Committee submitted! Somebody screwed up. Now will someone be big enough to fix it?Jim

However, I have been around Indy and the US Nationals & the Indy 500 my whole life. I think you are trying establish a meaning to a personal objection which is fine, but real stretch of the imagination and political spin on your part. I think the term is valid as we all use it and know what it means. I absolutely hate poll spin, and I think your point is reverse spin, not spin on my part. |
Re: 128 Car Field Qualifying
The evolution of S/S&Stock Eliminator class winners only, class winners plus low qualifiers 64 car field, class winners plus low qualifiers 96 car field and until recently class winners plus low qualifiers 128 car field. If the term "bump in " is used incorrectly this does not mean it should be accepted. Seems we have to many "Indy Rules", one of twenty four on the circuit.

Re: 128 Car Field Qualifying
Tony,
Who are we to say nhra does anything incorrectly??? How many times has Eric won Indy? |
Re: 128 Car Field Qualifying
There are lots of terms you can find things wrong with the literal meanings. This is the reason italics are used around the words with questionable meanings. Most of us use generally accepted words, and "bump" accurate or not in this town is the accepted terminology in my opinion. Not that I agree with all the literal definitions. Otherwise I would have left the italics off the term. For the Bill O'Reilly fans it a colloquialism. ;):)
Other Indiana technical terms are doofus, bitchin, bonehead, taint, and my favorite: cattywompus. :) I guess if you say a class car is bitchin some people might take it negatively about a female dog in heat, but here it is one cool car! |

What? Does any of what you posted really make sense to you? What does whether or not Eric has won Indy or not have to do with anything? And the one that amazes me the most of anything posted over the last week, who are we? WE are the guys who pay the bills at NHRA! WE are the ones who keep the lights on in Glendora! WE are the racers! Without racers there is no need for NHRA to exist! Exactly how much does NHRA pay you anyway? Jim Now go ahead and ban me for NOT agreeing with you Mr. Moderator |
Re: 128 Car Field Qualifying
Jim, Thanks for your hard work trying to get the straight story on the new 128 rule. I think everyone appreciates you getting responses from the SRAC. Seems it is based on circumstances which will not be changed. Thanks again.

You're welcome Dick! Thank you for thanking me! I think we all needed to hear it straight from the source. It is what it is! Jim

Re: 128 Car Field Qualifying
Jim,
You are really over the top on this one. I was having some fun with the "who are we" comment. I asked Tony if Eric had won Indy twice becaue I wanted to know the answer. Is that OK with you? I don't share Dick's opinion of how all this has gone down. I hope you plan on pursuing nhra as hard as you have pursued your fellow racers. I have gone after nhra a few times myself. Let me know how you do. Jeff, Apparently there is a designated person to record the work of the SRAC. But, nobody will ever file a law suit that involves the SRAC. |
Re: 128 Car Field Qualifying
Ok Bruce you got me on this one. I got into a conversation that I shouldn't have been in. I really thought you were being serious. Sort of like what you did to Art. My bad! I was wrong. I can admit it. I pursued no individual Bruce, only the truth. BTW when are you leaving for Indy? Jim
