I'll start this story with our meeting Richard Chiless at M.I.S.and I told him how much we liked his # 3 museum & the Vineyards, he said next time we came to Mooresville to come to Welcome and get a personal tour.While there in 2012 he told me about the new 2013-14 Chevy SS , a v-8 rear wheel drive car coming out. I said that would make a great drag car, he said " How about If I get you one !"
So last fall we picked it up a show car from his Street Performance shop and Bob Kert from B.K. cars & our son Tony have been working on it.
Mike has the engine and "Dynoed " it at work , 795 H.P. @ 7200rpm. help from Buttet cams & "Big stuff' . with Hooker Headers.
Not sure what class it will run till NHRA gives us the H.P. ,It has 595 factory.
Also thanks to our brother -in-law Roger who works at G.M. Power Train here in Toledo he made us a 6L80 6 speed trans & 2 converters , with a 6.04 1st gear we will have to start in 2nd ,but it will elect. shift at 7600RPM'S going into 5th gear at about 1000'
I can't drive because of my health, so our friend Marion Stephenson will,
I thinking SS/AA should go 8.80's @ 150 + .
