Re: '67 Camaro E/SA redo
The car is going to look great with the new color combo, Rich. I also like the idea of the black tail panel,, even though the factory reserved that treatment for big block cars. As far as interior, either way you can't go wrong, whether its gold or black, it'll look just fine. I can't wait to see the finished product,, take care.

Re: '67 Camaro E/SA redo
Yeah, I've about sold myself on the blacked out tail. Guess I will have to get some eggshell black...too much gloss just won't look right. No worry...I'm not changing the Gold interior out, but I will be re-painting the tops of the doors, dash and trim pieces to match the new body color.

Re: '67 Camaro E/SA redo
While everyone was at Bowling Green this weekend having fun in the 100 degree heat I was busy in the shop with the same weather. Got all the pieces painted and the seats with new covers are back home.

I had a slight mishap/setback yesterday with some polyester body filler and I spent most of yesterday evening and the better part of today cleaning that up. I must not have used enough hardner in a batch of filler as it would never completely dry on the car...a major ordeal as it would not sand at all and balled up like chewing gum from hell. I ended up taking a razor blade and scraped it all off the car this morning before I could continue. Anyway, I shot a high build coat of primer on it before leaving this evening. I'll block the hull and see where it still needs attention. Once straight I'll shoot a couple of coats of paint on it then assemble the car again. Some medium wet sanding once the car is complete I'll shoot it again as a whole. http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps8fe0319a.jpg http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/q...psb4241588.jpg http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps57a93976.jpg http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps78ad22ac.jpg |
Re: '67 Camaro E/SA redo
This would be a great time to install a new windshield if it's needed.

I'm having a little difficulty working the roof of the car because I placed it high on jackstands...I'll need to lower it some in a day or two to finish. One of those grill rotating spit thingies sure would be nice. :p |
Re: '67 Camaro E/SA redo
A new windshield is cheap and nothing better than shedding a few pounds and being able to see better too! Plus they will come to you to install. As resourceful as you are, a rotisserie would be a piece of cake! Or make a platform to gain access to the roof. It's nice to see that you are doing all of your own work!
Now is the time to make the car as light as you can possibly get it, then you can place the weight where it makes the car work better. Sean |
Re: '67 Camaro E/SA redo
