Re: "Live" from Jegs Belle Rose 2014
The schedule is all changed for tomorrow. Rain is coming in so they are going to try to run the whole race tomorrow. Bad news is that the rain is supposed to be here tomorrow also. The CIC, King of the Bayou, and other special races will be held on Sunday, weather permitting.
It has been a great day here for time trials and class! Hopefully the rain will hold off and we will get it all in tomorrow! |

Light fog and heavy dew leaving home this morning. Fingers crossed for weather today.

Re: "Live" from Jegs Belle Rose 2014
Good morning, all! The rain possibilities are down to 10% for the day! It is overcast, but the sun is peeking thru. Looks like a great day for racing. We start out this morning at 9 with Super Street, then Stock.
And a big "Thank you" to Troy Pourciau for the wonderful beignets this morning for breakfast! I will now be wearing powdered sugar all day, but boy were they good! Also thank you to Sonny Stancil for the great strawberries! Well our team moved on in the NCAA tourney last night by beating Kansas State. I must admit I went to sleep on the game. We could only get it on the computer and we took it to bed with us! I woke up with 30 seconds to go! Good job Kentucky Wildcats!! Now they just have to beat undefeated Wichita State on Sunday! Well the sun is out a little better now, so let's go racing!! |

Hats off to this 2 guys they get what class racing is all about. Letting them rip, wish others would race this way no 1000ft agreements.

Regarding the Lynn/Oliver matchup for class , I agree with James Boyce and his post ; however, there are horsepower consequences awaiting the 79 , 305 on Monday !

Re: "Live" from Jegs Belle Rose 2014
Well it has been a busy day of racing and watching! Everything is going smoothly here. It sprinkled just a bit, but not enough to stop the racing. Lots of redlights in the 2nd round. Don't know what happened except it was a lot cloudier, so maybe that was it.
The rigs are pulling out fast and furiously! I guess trying to beat the rain. The CIC race is supposed to be tomorrow, but it doesn't look like there is going to be anyone left to run it! On the no shows this morning, I think most of them were due to breakage. Although 1 of the designated pairs did not show up on time and was not allowed to run. Many thanks to Jimmy Hidalgo for the great crawfish he cooked last night. And then today, there was some really good jambalaya in his pits! Thanks again. I think Cooter is still in in Stock and Super stock. |
Re: "Live" from Jegs Belle Rose 2014
Mmmmm crawfish!
My racing partner is from Slidell, LA and taught me how to eat them. Suck the head. If you don't, you aren't eatin' it right. Thanks for the updates! Jeff :) |

Re: "Live" from Jegs Belle Rose 2014
Congratulations to Austin Williams on a hard fought battle for the Stock Eliminator Win. I wish I could have been there. I was following it on DRC. Looked like some good racing all of yesterday and today. I would like to see the time slip on that final pass. Derek

Great job by the entire Div 4 crew for getting the entire race in yesterday! Super busy day!
|
Re: "Live" from Jegs Belle Rose 2014
The weather forecasters pulled the same "switcheroo" with this week's forecast that they did with the forecasts for the Division 4 opener in Houston. Kept raising the probablility of rain for Sunday until it was at 80 percent, then overnight dropped it back to 20 percent in the morning and none in the afternoon.
The moral of the story? Don't skip races just because the weather guessers say it might rain. |
Re: "Live" from Jegs Belle Rose 2014
Looking at the number of racers who stayed to play today, it looks like the forecasters spooked a lot of people into hitting the road last night. Gonna be a short day today.

Re: "Live" from Jegs Belle Rose 2014
I don't get it, how can you go to LA and leave early because it might rain. There is so much good food in the immediate area not to want to leave, and then there is a possibility of racing too, doesn't get much better than that.
If anyone is coming back through southwest Florida from LA, please pick me up 25 lbs of live crawdads and put them in a cooler with ice with the drain open. When you get here we will party, with festive drinks, scantily clad women, catchy tunes, beautiful gardens with butterflies, sweet smelling flowers and pure enjoyment. (must be 21 or older to participate) Thank you. Ron Ortiz U/SA Cajun Style |
Re: "Live" from Jegs Belle Rose 2014
Festive drinks and scantily clad women might 'splain the CIC race results.

[QUOTE=davidhuff;425474]You must be kidding?lol
No not really Mr. Eds car can run with the best !! |
Re: "Live" from Jegs Belle Rose 2014
It is well documented that Ed's car can run with anyone (even though he will "poor mouth" it.)....LOL...............but, for some of us (that run 1968's and 1969's)......Ed's car is new...
|
Re: "Live" from Jegs Belle Rose 2014
I wish somebody had video of the Stock final must have been awesome
|
Re: "Live" from Jegs Belle Rose 2014
Ed's 18 year old car can not run with any new car belonging to people that have a clue, and work at it. Wish it could. Heck, it's old enough to smoke, and even drink beer some places.
Oh! And old enough to vote! |
Re: "Live" from Jegs Belle Rose 2014
Mother Nature took care of the racers this weekend! Rain held off but is now and has been raining pretty good. Actually rained at the house yesterday morning, but obviously not at the track. Thanks to the Big Man!

Re: "Live" from Jegs Belle Rose 2014
Sorry I haven't been posting. Just lazy I guess! Saturday was pretty busy with racing and watching all day. Then we went back to Landry's for some great food again on Saturday night with some awesome Div. 3 super stockers. Had a great time with Allan and Marilyn Wade, Jerry and Sally Silveus, Bob and Carolyn Howald, and Harold Costello!
On Sunday the CIC race started around 9 or so. As you could see, not many cars left there to participate. We did have to pause for a few sprinkles, but the rest of the day turned out great. I am sure there would have been more participation had the race been held on Sat. before eliminations, but the right decision was made to run the race on Sat. The forecast looked bad for Sat and Sun, but the weather guys missed it and it was great weather. All in all we had a great time with great hospitality once again! A big thank you to Jimmy Hidalgo for all the food and good times. He even let us come over and watch the KY - Wichita State game at his office yesterday! The Wildcats won over the undefeated Wichita team in a great game!! So we spent the night at the track (where it rained a bunch overnight). We are now on our way back to KY! See ya'll for the Indy points race! Patsy |
