kdanner, I don't know why your having issues locating parts. PM and I will locate all parts that you need. They are available from Ford Racing. I assume when your talking about a zip tube, you mean the air intake. There is no air intake on the 5.0 N/A like they have on the supercharged combo. The part number for the COBRA JET 5.0L 4V INTAKE MANIFOLD M-9424-M50CJ*, and its the same as the as factory cars.

Jim, I assure you the parts will be around for a long time. You can build a clone CJ, 5.0 N/A or 4.6 for the same money you would spend I any similar older combo. You can pick up 2010 Mustang fairly cheap these days.

Ken I've already had that particular intake manifold since March and it is NOT the same as what came on the 3 factory built cars. Those had 3D printed intakes, not this multiple parts glued together with huge gaps on the inside like they are now selling. And, the 2013 NA 5.0 absolutely had an air intake AKA zip tube, see pic below which also shows the different manifold.

Finally, regarding your comment about parts being around for a long time, multiple 2010 CJ part numbers have already been turned off for some time now.

All I can tell you is the intake is listed in spec sheets submitted to NHRA and comes without the air intake tube just a throttle body. I beg to differ with you, I can purchase all parts needed to build any Cobra Jet combo produced.

I am sorry you are having such a difficult time building the combo you want. If you need help finding parts for your combo please PM.

Jeff, I'd like to see what spec's you put together for the "stock" Challengers. I have quite a bit of info that could be helpful.

It is cool to see how fast these cars are going.

That being said I really don't think it's right that the ones running in Stock are faster than 95% of the Super Stock cars. I'm talking ETs in general.

8 second ETs at 150+ in Stock is insane. Cars that fast should be in Super Stock.

WOW Factory Pro Stockers with Tunnel Ram Manifolds..

Running ET's that Jenkins, Sox & Martin, Dick Landy and many others ran back in the day.

And current pro stockers are running times that would have outran fuel cars of old.

Progress..evoulution...whatever you would like to call it.

At one time a 13 sec car was considered fast.

I can't wait to see a 7 sec stocker personally. The 7 sec SuperStockers being the norm is just around the corner.

Yes, these cars are very well put together pieces. Hell think about it without all the threads started with "new cars" this site would be boring lol ! I'd say they are pretty good for the sport lots of publicity and got people talikng about stock eliminator again.!

I 100% agree. I drove a fairly fast SS car once upon a time. I hate to think it'd get blown off by a good number of Stockers today. Ego...

My only question is, doesn't the rule book state no porting or polishing on cylinder heads?
Don't all the new cars, COPO, drag paks, and cobra jets have CNC ported heads from the factory?
Wouldn't this make them superstock motors because of this?
Don't shoot just asking.

The production LS7 Corvette head has always been CNC ported. That is the head used on the 427 and 327 COPO engines. The LS3 head used on this years 396 and 350 is run as cast.
