I hear you guys (and gals) are up after Super Street,,,at least there'll be some rubber down before you fire your first shot and it won't be too hot yet. It could be pretty good in the morning,,,see you. Danny Durham

Well, just got to talk to Fletch and he's standing on solid ground in the holding lot in Seattle, although, somewhat woosy. From his house it's been exactly 2700 miles in 3 days.
Good job Mate !!!!!!!! |

Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Well it is another beautiful day here in Seattle. Stock just made our 1st run of 2 for the day. It is 80 degrees, DA 1860'. We spun a little, only a 1.40 60'. We ran a 10.39. They had Kelly Thomas as #1 at .88 under, DeFrank #2 at .85 under. But they had Cour in the wrong class. He went 10.14, but I couldn't see which class. Yesterday he had AA/SA on the window, but I don't know what he teched as.

Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
I just got my copy of the "west coast edition" rule book. Danny Durham was kind enough to hand deliver a copy. On the cover is the NHRA logo, in big red letters "WEST COAST EDITION" and under the red letter heading is a picture of Joe Sorensen car with its wheels in the air and it looks like its on a low 9:80 run in B/SA. I looked at the cover picture with a magnafying glass to see if the car had any leaks. I will read it and point out any differences.

Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Well we finally got in our 2nd run. It's 87 degrees and the DA 2345'. We hooked better and picked up a little. I'm afraid Sorensen was hunting us because he still only went 94 mph. A lot of people changed around, tho. Cour is #1 at 10.01 .99 under.

Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Well we missed Sorensen for 1st round, but can run Lambeck 2nd round. Here are a few more pics from today.

Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Well it is another beautiful day here in the Northwest. The 9:00 curfew just arrived so everyone just started up their cars. It is about 72 now. I will figure the da in a bit. We run after st, so probably about 10.

Really glad I got to meet you two yesterday. I hope the new front tires helped.
Larry,,,enjoy the rule book,,,the main difference is you stop at the latte stand before you go to the scales! Patsy, enjoy that bottle of "Washington Wine",,, its going to be hard to beat those Sonoma area wineries, but I had to give it a shot. Hope to see you sometime today,,,take care. Danny Durham |

And 14 on the 427/425 would require a 1.25 under pass, the HP would be instant on Monday or Tuesday, so that would already be public, and official. |
Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Well we made it thru first round, but have Lambeck heads-up next. Well, you just never know how things will go????
Danny, it was nice meeting you yesterday, too. Chris really likes Merlot, too, so I may have to save the wine to share when we get home! The run Sorensen made was at an altitude adjusted track earlier in the year. Well got to get ready for our heads-up. Wish us luck. We'll need it! |
Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Larry, you easily have the most heads up races out of anybody I know....
|
Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Well, I guess you see we got bumped til after the 1st session of pros. Should be running soon.
|
Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Larry
A 4-Speed Transmission would get you out of alot of heads up races. Jerico & Soft-Lock is all you need. Hammer |
Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
We won! We Won! We Won! Lambeck spun em up and we didn't. Plus Larry got him on the tree, too. I was sitting in the stands and when they announced the Heads-up race, someone behind said, "Well, Larry Hill can go home now". So you know I just had to yell extra loud (scream actually) when our light came on in our lane.
We have another round tonight. Hey, we're in the money!! Yeah!!! More later. |
Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Congrats to Larry and Patsy. Way to represent.

Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Congratulations Larry, from a west coast sportsman racer
Lambeck (BoB) has been a life long friend of mine and I have know Doug many, many years They are a class act and make no excuses - its just racing They certainly were not going to under estimate you and were loaded for bear Good job It takes more than the fastest car to win sometimes, as we all have learned over the many years we have raced Hope you win the event - no quarter to anyone in any round See you in Sonoma |
