If NHRA will not look into this where is the division director and tech director? Why aren't racers being taken care of?

If you remember, the problem surfaced not too far in the past and cost a Tech official with years of experience his job. At that time,Sunoco responded that they did not like the way their fuel was tested. That same dismissed official made two posts on here that really did not:rolleyes: garner much support from the racers. Nobody from SUNOCO stood up and apoligized
for the fuel problem. So, 1 NHRA tech official lost his job as a scapegoat and the fuel problem continues. You would think that SUNOCO would have had their act together for the the biggest race of the year. Guess it really wasn't that important after all.

Mr. Fine, they have had all season to get their act together...I am not sure it is going to happen this year. Follow the $$$$$. M.J.

Andrew and I have run Sunoco Blue or 112 for the last three years with no problem. It's always checked right in the middle and the performance was fine. For Indy we bought 15 gallons of VP C-11 because a couple of years ago on the dyno C-11 was a couple of horsepower better than Blue. We buy Sunoco from a dealer that only sells it in barrels that he gets from Wick Oil in St.Louis. I truly think the problem is with the Sunoco distributor that was at Indy. I think they were getting rid of old fuel that had been in the bottom of someone's tank for a while. The worst thing is that no one at Sunoco would acknowledge the problem or do anything about it. I keep hearing that VP and Sunoco both will be at NHRA races next year.

Hope your hearing right. Much safer than hauling jugs of fuel in our trailers.

Ed, I've been hauling fuel in my trailer for 25 years. Not a drum but 10 or 15 gallons for sure. Most folks do.

Is it reasonably doable once purchased, Sunoco or other, to go and have it tested at NHRA fuel check before using it ?
Should there still be a DQ fuel problem it may be due to residual gas in the fuel delivery system filter, tank, foam etc...

I've seen two race car trailers this past year that were in traffic accidents. Both pretty much melted from fuel inside burning. I would just as soon not transport my fuel.

It hasn't been clearly stated but the issue is with SR-18 specifically?
