Nice. The 305/145/180 looks like it might be a good one. Please keep us updated as you progress.

624 is 350 head the 2.02 1.60 valve version would been a corvette head not exactly sure off top of my head on year, but gonna guess 80,81

614,I have never seen list 614 on my 79 305 155/235 but never have seen any of these 450 is my other # and what I use
there is a 416, that is also 305 head don't know if 614 is misprint for 416?
or they are very rare?

Most 305's # 450 and 416 are 1.72/1.50 valve (2bbl) 1.84/1.50 valve versions are 4 bbl.
the 1.72/1.50 versions are alot easier to find

I have seen 416's that have 624 on the bottom side of intake runner, but they are 305 heads and are'nt the same as the 624 head for 350, go by the the long number next to springs

You can tell 305 and 350 heads apart very easy by looking between cylinders 350 will be roughly about 1/2 to 5/8'' inch wide 305 will be 3/4-1'' wide
Also 624 casting 350 will be 1.72/1.50,rarely not cracked 1.94/1.50 or corvette 2.02/1.60
305 will be 1.72/1.50 or 1.84/1.50

I have seen the 614 head. I scrapped a set last fall. There was a witness mark where the piston touched the head (rod bearing failure) and I had no other 614 castings so I took them and converted them to cash. Never saw a set before this and probably never will again. I don't know what they came off or when we stood them up in the core room.

Im building this same combo in a 77 skylark. Just picked up a core motor with the 450 heads. Any tips or insight on this build would be great. TIA

Thanks for the replies.

Go for it John. We can always use another Stocker entry racing with us and you've been wanting to dive in for awhile now!

Check to see if it has 1.72 or 1.84 intake valves.
