Oh my, this is shocking news. Kevin, I'm very sad for this loss to you and your family. Scott was a wonderful guy and I enjoyed all the great times I was able to spend with him. Hang in there and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Very sad news.
 

What a shocker. Bill and I met Scott at our very first NHRA race in 1999 at the Open held in Orlando when we both ran G/SA in Class Eliminations. What a nice guy! Scott was always happy and friendly.

Later when Bill and I relocated to the Tampa area, we saw Scott often as a friend and as a racer at the track.

Always willing to help, I called Scott last weekend while we were at the Belle Rose race in need of a part.

RIP Scott Helms.

No one who ever knew Scott will ever forget him, and anyone who met him was instantly his friend. Truly a loss to the class racing community.

I got to know Scott when he raced with us at the SSSSA races. Great, fun guy. Very sad to hear that we lost him and very shocking. Its been a rough couple of weeks for the Helms, Teutons and the Hebert families. Prayers go out to all of them and their families. RIP Scott!!
