Also, I believe it was Mopar getting turned down for a super charged car that "forced" us to come out with the V10.
Just saying.....

I know, Im ready for the beating so bring it on......LMAO

Joe. That post was not a response to you.

If you want to know how Chevrolet forced Mopar to submit the V-10 with a PowerGlide, I suggest you ask "Pentastar340", AKA Leonard Johnson, who apparently owns "Drag Pack #106". He is the one who is making that absurd claim.

The best guess is maybe the guys at Chrysler figured the V-10 could make enough torque and HP to pull a PowerGlide, and they wanted a good strong lightweight 2 speed.

Hey, maybe NHRA will let you have a TH 350! It fits right in where a PowerGlide does, all you need is to get someone to make you a case with the bellhousing for a V-10.

Funny how a guy with a 283 in a 67 Chevelle can go fast enough with a PowerGlide to set a record, but guys with a 512 V-10 can't make a PowerGlide run for them. Go figure.

I guess some people need to read their post before they submit it. Its kind of funny when you read a post but yet you have no clue what they race or have ever seen them at the track.

We do have a couple of 3 speeds that already fit and we have tested. Its up to NHRA to legalize it.

On not being able to make a powerglide run for us...well we did go 9.26 already with it. Its not that we cant get it to run for us, we just want what everyone else gets....a 3 speed.

I dont believe a mustang has been sold from Ford with a 3 speed yet. I know they are in the development stages of it but as far as I know none have been sold with one yet. So that is why we are asking for one.

Only the Super Stock only SCJ 4.0l whipple 5.4s were sold with the 2-speed. All the other autos where 3 speed C4s prepared by Joel's on Joy on the stock eliminator cars(08-13) if I remember correctly.

Besides real cars have 3 pedals ;) lol.

Joseph,

If you get NHRA to approve the 3speed for the V10 DragPack will you guys compete in the Factory Showdown at Indy?

All the Chevy's will have Glides, but the paperwork says a 3 speed option. Our ammended paperwork says the same. Part of the deal on 000 was to develop a 3 speed which we have. Dave Thomas developed the aftermarket 3 speed. We have a T/Flite 727. Fords got them already. Anyway NHRA is considering the thing now. And yes we would be in the shootout. We have run a best of 9.29 in the No Problem heat and another 9.26 with the other car, but we could not duplicate it. Got to low .30's. I don't think that will get in the Big Show. Last year we ran 9.47 fastest in Indy with a two speed. We have not touched the motors. 000 has over 300 runs that we know of.

I don't know why they don't race in it now. They said they have been 9.26. The cobra jets haven't been that fast weighing 3675 lbs. Everyone cries over the Cobra jets having been in the 8.90's, but those cars are going to have to add 3 to 4 hundred pounds to race in this shoot out. Not only is that 3 to 4 tenths in performance, it changes the whole set up of the car as well, so what will that cost them in performance?

Mr Johns you are wrong. None of the SC mustangs were sold with a 3 speed. As a matter of fact to this day still none have been sold (maybe the 2013). They have all be converted to compete with a 3 speed but all come from Ford with a 2 speed.

Yes, Im pretty sure we would have at least one if not 2 DragPaks at the Showdown! We might not have the biggest gun at the fight but we surely would not just have a knife!

That is the same thing I am saying, I think with the added weight on the cobra jet, I think it will become a 9.30 to 9.40 car, and I am talking about the fastest ones, I don't think that will get them into the big show either. I don't see the reason many will change their cars just to race in the shoot out, knowing they may not qualify for the big show. The index should have been in the 10.20 to 10.30 range.

You are correct, we did go 9.26 but that was great air and only once. Also the mustangs have went that fast in BB/SA or it might have been CC/SA at the Gators this year. He went 9.24 as a matter of fact. I believe yall all know the Tetuon's, we are NOT scared of a fight if we have the slightest chance and some times we dont even need that. We love to race but come on now, superchargers make their own air and we all know this.

I wouldnt count us out no matter what, we have been known to do crazy things!

That was in great air as well, on a track that was working very well also. These cobra jets aren't top fuel and funny car, they don't get to change pullys, etc to make up for bad air. Conditions impact these cars more than you think. Also, like I said, these cars are going to have to add a lot of weight as well. No one ever figures that you guys are scared of a fight, your cajuns? right. lol. I'm just saying that this shootout is not a true measure of any of these cars performance. NHRA is trying to even the playing field, but at the same time put an index that will prevent racers from qualifing for the main race.
