Re: Attention Division 5 & 6 Stock/Super Stock Racers
Paul 'Jody' Plummer suggested something along this line a year a go...
http://classracer.com/classforum/sho...hlight=plummer I think its a good idea, and certainly something to work towards. |
Re: Attention Division 5 & 6 Stock/Super Stock Racers
Mike you started this while I was headed to Medford just seen it at lunch time. There was tallk about this at Medford with some fellow racers here out of the greater Seattle area, look foward to this have always supported the local assocation in the area S/ST and S/G in the past now have a stocker would be thrilled with more assocation races. How about the new track down by shelton for a race it has no sactioning body that I know of yet alot of people I would think show to check out the new track. If you are going to Woodburn this weekend bring some info for the racers.
Thanks for doing this. James |
Re: Attention Division 5 & 6 Stock/Super Stock Racers
Larry and James,
Thanks for your words and support of a program of this nature We are excited to put together a series for the Stock and Super Stock racers in the region. Definitely some value for the track operators, racers and the fans in the northwest. Realistically we are looking at 4-5 venues and 4-5 doubleheader races in 2012 to kick this program off all working around the NHRA and IHRA 2012 race schedule. NOW, I need racers, track operators and series supporters to get serious about this deal if I am to commit myself and my team to run this deal in 2012. How many of you would be willing to SUPPORT the program today, sign up and pay the $100 membership fee AND/OR provide support to the program with partnership $$$? In addition, I need your support in recruiting the following; SERIES Headline Sponsor If your business would like to be a headline sponsor for a 8-10 race series, send me a proposal with details and what you would value such a series to be worth. Individual RACE or Doubleheader weekend sponsor Same type of proposal with details outlining what you feel such a race would be worth at your home track. In return, I will provide the following; 1) Tech official(s) 2) Series schedule, venues and rules structure 3) End of year series payout to TOP 5 racers 4) Race series coordination of points 5) Series Newsletter Now, who wants to step up for 2012? Mike Ferstl mtferstl@shaw.ca Northwest Stock/Super Stock Initiative PS Unfortunately, I will not be in Woodburn this weekend! |
Re: Attention Division 5 & 6 Stock/Super Stock Racers
I'm very interested in your series. We have two stockers. I could even maybe do some kind of sponsorship deal if I recover from this year's NHRA wallet job!

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your reply and support. What did you have in mind? Thanks, Mike Ferstl Northwest Stock/Super Stock Initiative |
Re: Attention Division 5 & 6 Stock/Super Stock Racers
Will you have a payout per race or just at the end of season? The $100.00 per race is not real cheap for a bracket race in my opinion. What I'm saying is if you make all 5 doubles you'll have $1000.00 in entry fees plus all the extras.

Re: Attention Division 5 & 6 Stock/Super Stock Racers
Hi Harry 6674,
Thanks for your reply and interest in our new series! Each race will have it's own payout and the more racers we have participate in the program, the further back we will pay. I would like to pay back as far as the quarters but that is dependent on racer support and turnout. In addition, the membership fee gives you a chance at the end of year payouts. If you read my earlier posts, if you join before Dec. 1, 2011 I will provide an early bird discount at $90. Once Dec. 2, 2011 rolls around the fee goes to $100 even. I find it hard for you to believe a $100 entry fee is steep when you pay over $300 per divisional to sit around for 3-4 days, make 2-3 licks and race once when you can pay $200 per doubleheader over 2 days and race twice! If you think that is steep, maybe this program is not the right fit for you. I think what we are offering is more than fair, promotes racer participation and gives you another alternative. In addition, with further sponsorship, I would like to reward best package first round winner and best package first round loser! Regards, Mike Ferstl Northwest Stock/Super Stock Initiative |
Re: Attention Division 5 & 6 Stock/Super Stock Racers
Hi Mike
I am a professional tee shirt screen printer and graphic designer. I would love to make some kind of trade deal. Printing tee shirts for this series would be fun. I'm open to all kinds of suggestions. I agree with James that you should look into the Shelton deal--http://www.ridgemotorsportspark.com/ Good Luck Chris Barnes Wagons of Steel Stock 6621 |
