Hopefully that is because no self-respecting free-market conservative would ever buy a car from a socialized government organization like GM. To do so would be the height of hypocrisy.

Would the Caprice be an import, therefore not eligible for Stock?

"Old school, Crown Vic, new school, 2011 Caprice"! It does run! Maybe when they start surplusing them, I can get one to match my '96.

Same as the GTO, I would guess.

It is built in Australia as others have said with the drivetrain manufactured in Mexico. It is already in use in Australia as the Holden Commodore. I've driven these new Caprices on two seperate occasions. They do run hard and handle well.

The failure of GM to move the shifter on to the column is a problem. With all of the equipment mounted in the center console area of police vehicles it is a nuisance.

The Ford Interceptor will be released around November. This car is based on the current Taurus and should also be a good car. It is V6 powered but the sandard engine pits out 30 more h.p. than the C.V. 4.6. It is also available with a twin turbo Eco-Boost and AWD.

That can be quickly fixed with an ODB II Mod...

I have thought about doing the mod. Just have not got around to it.

Two of our finest stopped to look at the 2011 a couple of days ago. I let them drive the car, both were smiling like Chesire cat's when they brought it back! Let's say they were impressed!

OBD II mod?? You mean PCM calibration? I've never heard it called "OBD II mod", and I've been doing this since before OBD II. Only way to fix that MPH limit is to reflash the PCM with a new calibration.

The Taurus based all wheel or front drive has no place in the pursuit police community. At least not in ours. Too small. Our guys will kill them in a week or less. I was amazed the CV held up as good as it did. You need to do a ride along on busy shift....... Talk about abuse! The Cap has more leg room and head than the Ford CV2010-11 and will run the pants off them too. Speed set at 137 with a bunch of power (355) and Stabilitrac too. The console did not bother our biggest and tallest cop (6' 11 "). He has his knees even with the middle of the wheel in a CV. The rear area has more room too. This thing looks like it would eek out a low 14 sec time. Pretty impressive for a heavy turd. I hope they fare as well as the CV did for the abuse. Ok, you can move the post now..... :)
