Re: What is "ProtectMode" ????
Alan I wasn't talking down to you. I understand what you guys are going through with the new cars. But as long as these new cars are running them (not in protect mode) they will eventually settle down. This is not new I remember in the 70's you could go buy an Olds wagon. drive it to the track and run further under than our built for stock hemi. We had to run heads up with low factored, mid motored Corvettes.
Last year I laid back a bit because of a promise I made to someone. I have yet to enjoy racing in the "protect" mode. The only thing keeping me racing this year will be the overall class champion stuff. But it looks like that might be just another bunch of lies. If you have to worry about going to fast on a qualifying pass it sucks. I had a lot of fun with my turbo dodges at the points meets till they hit me with the Artie Leong factor. It was no longer fun so I sold the car. I'm sorry you have to worry about going to fast, while knowing you aren't the fastest in the class. To me that would just suck. And I'm not being nasty or sarcastic. But stating how I feel. |
Re: What is "ProtectMode" ????
Well at least nobody on here has confused "Protect Mode" with "Racing"

An index at 330, 660, 1000, &1320 ft. will take care of "protect mode".

Show reaction time , 1/4 mile time & mph only.
And don't put out a qaulifying sheet til after final round qaulifying... And use the hp factor system on 1/8 mile times "if need to be"...... How you like dat ?? Call it D W's get- r - done hp system. |
Re: What is "ProtectMode" ????

Different cars run the 1/8 mile differently. Even in the same class. High torque cars will do a lot better in the eight. I do agree with taking out the 1000' clocks in eliminations though. |
Re: What is "ProtectMode" ????
They run the 1/8th different, but you won't see tenths different there. Just a few hundreths.
