Wanna bet the 5" rule gets changed for next year now that this picture is on the cover of ND? Talk about stretching a rule to the limit! I can remember when the entire hood scoop could not be over 5" tall.

Chase Williams got bounced a couple of years ago.. Its has to be permanent( the scoop). He does or did have an east texas super scoop. Rc would have a field day with that scoop!!

As for mr I will wim! I bet you don't make it down the track.

Keith, that's probably who I was thinking of. I remember something about the top of the opening being illegal for that particular Super Mod class (different rule for 1x4 vs 2x4 carbs in S/Mod?)

I think Bobby's comment about finishing in the top 10 was said in jest, so go easy on him.

I never knew Indy was using the west coast rule book and for those that think its so easy out here, there is a freeway that brings you right out here. I believe its the same one I take to Indy.

Aw Keith I'm sure you don't mean that. I mean come on.. I drive a stick car with a clutch and seem to "make it down the track" just fine (on occasion). Are you telling me I wouldn't be able to do that in a transbrake equipped, air-shifted car? I guess you're right, I might fall asleep behind the wheel. Alright fine you "wim" this one.. but just wait til my stocker is ready.. lol lighten up ma man.

But back to the main point of the thread. You're right they would have a field day with that scoop. I don't understand how it is considered part of the scoop when it is clearly different material/color etc.

If Ryan has one, it's legal.

What it means, Paul, is I'm the #1 fan of the McClanahans.

Yes, I know Floyd is a big fan of Ryan and Brian, and would like seeing a pic of Ryan's car...lol. Floyd, are they related to Jerry McClanahan who won a World Championship in Stock in the 60's (or early 70's)?
