Re: Impact Racing
The way I read that story, it has nothing to do with the quality of the product, but everything to do with the stickers. SFI sells the patches, decals, etc to the manufacturer's. So by impact having there own made, SFI is not getting anything. We all know that those stickers are not sold to them at cost, I'm sure that they have some sort of fee's attached. That being said, what impact has done is deceitful and was all done in order to allow them to make more profit.

Re: Impact Racing
For what its worth EVERY/ANY PRODUCT manufactured or distributed with an IMPACT label on it is no longer eligible to be recertified and as of April 27 2010 will nt be accepted by the racing organizations as a SFI eligible/accepted safety item--- NOTHING IS EXEMPT --shoes/gloves/helmets/suits /jackets/pants/belts etc.--- NOTHING the entire IMPACTproduct line is affected per SFI---Friend of mine just got a letter from SFI to that effect----SFI is suggesting you might want to go back to IMPACT or your place of purchase for a refund---Comp387

Re: Impact Racing
Regarding Dale Earnhart, Simpson was not found liable for anything. Earnhardt was warned for years by Simpson and other people he was using the seat belts incorrectly and stated that they wouldn't be liable if he continued to do so. He was notorious for wearing his sholder harness loose also. Teresa Earnhart received $0.00 from their lawsuit of Simpson. I am really surprised Impact would take such a risk in using bogus SFI labels.

"SFI has posted on the internet an announcement that effective April 27 our products will be decertified. Impact is legally challenging this proposed action by SFI. Impact strongly disagrees with the statements on SFI's website. This is a dispute over SFI tags. Our products are certified. They are safe and we stand behind them." http://www.impactraceproducts.com/ |
Re: Impact Racing
I have an IMPACT helment. According to Summit tech, they will not refund my money nor take the helment back. I have to deal with Impact.
