Re: FORD, 5 NEW S/SS Engines
Yes Ken been out of racing fora while now, but I guess what I wanted to know was will ford build any of this or will it be a MPR or back-yard built? Next question were in stock will they race, how many AAAA'S can NHRA add.

Re: FORD, 5 NEW S/SS Engines
The obvious question now is, Why just not allow all fuel injected crate motors?

Re: FORD, 5 NEW S/SS Engines
GTX John, Its not a hoax, it was announced at the PRI show.
Dale, Ford is building these cars, but does it really matter who builds them.? NHRA has approved them. |

Re: FORD, 5 NEW S/SS Engines
And a lot of you guys cursed me for coming up with the crate motor IHRA classes......Gezzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Its great that the auto manufacturers are becoming involved in this bad economy but these specs are a little over the top (my opinion) unless they are S/S only. At the very least the HP ratings should be more "correct" and if the combo dosent meet the 7.5 lb wt factor with a resonable HP rating they should go right into S/S. The rule of limited production cars being automaticly a S/S car and stockers being showroom avaliable to anyone seems to have been thrown out the window long ago. The new Fords along with the Dodges with the 360 combo will be interesting no doubt in the lower classes. I guess we cant stop progress.

P.S. You have to use the old T-10 Trans when over 4000 lbs class wt. with 14X32 tires. |
Re: FORD, 5 NEW S/SS Engines
Good, bad, ugly, however you want to look at it, I give FORD props for getting involved in stock/superstock like they are. Maybe this will encourage other makers to get involved as well and, hopefully, let our sport continue to grow.

Re: FORD, 5 NEW S/SS Engines
The good thing is, now NHRA will raise the trigger for HP to a more realistic level.
That way ,these new combos will be able to dominate the qualifying sheet. (So they think.) |
Re: FORD, 5 NEW S/SS Engines
The 352 is based on the 302 and the 428 is based on the 351.
