RX Dealer,

Did one of the CJ's head south today? I was on the interstate north of Springfield IL and our route went over I-55 and I could have sworn I saw on of the CJ's on an open trailer heading south. The hood scoop was noticeably forward, not centered or to the rear.

If it was, that was my first sighting.

What makes you say that? A GM LS motor reminds me of a FE ford. I think they even use the same amount of head bolts. Last time I checked you couldn't look through the intake port of a GM and see your shoe on the ground like a HEMI! I also get a kick out of GM using crossbolts on the mains like FORD and CHRYSLER do and did 45 years ago! I guess its a good design. Shawn

But if the factors were right they would allready be SS cars and we wouldn't have these ramblings......a major "slip up" from NHRA..but probably intentional..If they wanna sell cars on monday..then make and race cars that the public can buy period!

AMEN! Totally agree with you! Shawn

in 1970 you could go to the dealer and buy a 426 hemi challenger, ins.and plates away you go,now these new cars ,the drag pak chall.cannot be street driven and is not avalible after a certain quota, has been met.dodge had the factory race car in s/s,the lightened front end car with the hemi ,it just looks to modified to run as a stock elim. car.some will agree and disagree,

I personally believe that BOTH the Supercharged Mustang and the new Challengers belong in S/S or thier own class....NOT in stock eliminator. The rule book should be revised to say a larger number (min 100 and documented) should be produced and avaliable to the general public to who anyone who can afford them and want one. They dont have to be street legal due to all of the Govt. BS thats required to pass EPA and safety regulations today but no special runs of such small amounts produced. My 1 cent worth

I too would like to see these cars in the S/S class and let the other showroom cars battle out in stock. Now I wasn't around back in the day but how do these cars differ in their classification from the 68 HEMI A body cars? Aren't both factory built as race cars with no intentions of them being street legal? I mean I understand the 41 year difference between the two. Now before some hot head jumps on that question with sarcasm, I'm asking out of lack of knowledge.
