Thanks to a company called Liberty Gears...and later on, racers switched to Doug Nash 5-speed transmissions.

Alot of them also used the Chrysler Red Stripe Transmissions even behind the chevys

And there was a day that $75 bought you a good used transmission from any wrecking yard...!
