Thanks for the missing link.

Here's that bad boy, Tom.

I have a beautiful picture somewhere in my "stuff" showing the 2 1969 Camaros and the Corvette in the pits at Sanair. The 'Vette was running the 3x2bbl 427 IIRC at that point. When I get an opportunity I will scan and post here ... hopefully.

Different Vette, Tim.
The 67 PG car was the former Bob Pagano /Pete Fedun deal.

The driver name was Ed Elderkin in 1990 for the Corvette A/SA #1873. Pics to follow.

There was a NED Stock Circuit race at Island Dragway in 1971...I think it was anyway...

Dave was driving a '69 Camaro in A/S I think and Mark Mazotta was driving the blue Corvette....also running A/S

The Vette was really a cool car for back then and on 7" tires...

Both cars going 11.40 or there abouts.

We raced Dave after a few rounds and my partner redlighted.....I was standing right behind the line in the center....

Both cars went .05 under the records.....I was disappointed of course but it was a memorable event to me.

Dave's cars were always killer fast and from what I knew he was a great guy and obviously that is true....

Sorry to read of his passing.....He was definitely one of the best !

Here is a Photo of Team LeBrun that was taken at an All Star Event at Epping, Dave's Brother Bob drove the # 2 Camaro and Ed Elderkin drove the Corvette, Dave had many Corvettes in his early years but only owned ( 2 ) that Ed drove, this is the 2nd Vette and the last Vette that Ed drove for Dave, notice the Consecutive numbers ... Pretty Cool !

At E Town I think it was in the late 90s, Dave was in C and had to race Bob in A, they both dialed 9.99 to make it a heads up run with no breakout.

Two different classes and no breakout?

Neither car could brake out with a 9.99 dial.

My condolences to the family and friends of Dave. Dave as we all know was one of the true icons of Stock. When my brother and I started racing stock in 1975 Dave was the one that we looked up to. He set the bar for most of us in Division one. Looking at all the pictures brings back so many memories of him at the races. Racing with him all those years never did I think this day would come. We sometimes think that guys like Dave will live forever. Thank you for the memories Barry

Raced against Dave since I started in 1974, we laughed, we agreed , we disagreed, we both wanted to beat each other every time we raced, but most importantly, Dave wanted the best for the sport, and deservedly so , that brought him the respect that he deserved.

Rest in peace my friend

Thank you for posting Dave's obituary.

A great competitor.
May peace be with you Dave.

Pretty much a legend in Stock Eliminator, both as a racer and engine builder. Always sad to see an icon leave us.

I never had the pleasure of meeting the man but from the articles I read about him in magazines like Super Stock and Drag Illustrated I felt like I knew him. RIP Sir, you were an asset to the sport.
