Re: Big Chief and the NHRA???
Just wondering, does Pro Mod entry at a NHRA National event require any grade points?

Re: Big Chief and the NHRA???
I think it is all good....Go big ChÃ*ef...fact of the matter is...if you want to be considered fast....it is not street racing.....go to Indy. You are either really fast or you get your az handed to ya. Hope you are fast, but don't think you will be close. GL

Re: Big Chief and the NHRA???
Pro Mod does require grade points and the bad part is they get a grade point for getting their lic. So if he has a lic. which I doubt he could have entered on Wednesday. So we the sportsman racers get bent over again for some freak show NHRA is now promoting. Funny how the rules change to benefit them at the blink of an eye!!!!

Re: Big Chief and the NHRA???
Hi all,
I just took a look at the entries in Pro Mod for Indy. I see that 32 have entered and that is a 16 car field. Unless they have a fan vote to put him in as the 17th Pro Mod in a 16 car field, the "Chief" is going home early..... The bump stop last year was a 5.940 @ over 250 mph............ I am an old guy and I remember guys going to Indy 4 or 5 times trying to qualify in Stock & Super Stock.... It was an honor just to make the field.... Bob |
Re: Big Chief and the NHRA???
NHRA Is going with a "No Prep" track for Pro Mod this year. That way Big Chief can show off his skills and qualify No. 1.

"As seen on TV" still carries some weight. Force still gets big lineups even though his reality TV show was over years ago. |
Re: Big Chief and the NHRA???
If you really want to see what real NHRA drag racing is and how it works present day check out Southeast Gassers Association. They run strict 1967 NHRA gasser rules(there are some modern day exception) and they fill the stands and have new cars being built every season. One of the Stott brothers from Pro Mod fame, started this style of racing with 2 cars. You can find events on you tube. I can see this taking off and moving up the east coast and having a Mason/Dixon rivalry. The racers are also real people and real racers.Check it out.

Re: Big Chief and the NHRA???
Off the top of my head... must use clutch to shift, stick car only, parts available 'til 1967 are eligible for use, 10.5 or 11" tire, no electronics, older style Holleys, etc. They are very particular with tech. Many cars have problems passing.
