Re: Tommy Sizemore - Cylinder Head RIP OFF
Worth a phone call---call the local county atty general/states atty tell them your predicament ask them what they suggest doing---guys like this need to have their vital parts removed---they prey on unsuspecting people because they know you are a thousand miles away and cannot or probably will not do anything---we had a similar situation with a company in Northern Florida Emerald coast machine something or other gave me the complete BS runaround I got on a plane actually went to his area to see my wifes sister got the local sheriff involved went to his business and the sheriff and myself walked in the door---- no more BS want the parts NOW or come with me please you are under arrest!!! Sometimes you have to take a more "firm" approach to a situation--- Buck says he gives you your stuff right away unless he wants to explain IT TO THE JUDGE---Eff him be a Pri&k nail him to the cross you have been too nice for too long

Did people that sent heads to this hillbilly, see his utube video first?

Re: Tommy Sizemore - Cylinder Head RIP OFF
I am not defending the guy since I don't know him but....
I have all the same tooling for doing heads and his videos may look crude and he may sound like a redneck but the work he is doing is not a whole lot different than how I did heads for years and years. Sure you'd love to think your heads were being done in modern super accurate machines but trust me you can get very good results using all hand tools on a bench..... A few machines can add up to a huge investment and produce poor results in the hands of an incompetent person. I've taken brand new heads out of the box with Serdi type machine cut seats and they were so far out it was ridiculous. I fixed them with "old School" seat grinding equipment.....Kwikway stones and hand held grinder on aluminum heads with hard seats.....a real pain to do and tedious and time consuming.....and always was... So maybe the guy is a ripoff artist and a hick but the processes he shows are how I have done many, many heads with good results. One machine I have seen.....A Newen can do seats and valve pocket work all CNC......Costs around $100 grand I believe... Thats gonna take a lot of valve jobs to payoff !!! Maybe I should go back into the head business.... I like the spray welding vids.....never did that process myself.... |

I was convinced he was an honest person. Tommy/Tony talks a damn good game, had a decent website. His videos showed a degree of competence to me. Including one customer validating what a good job he did. Up to that point had no reason to question what he was doing. Nor did some 10 or so people and probably more than that. Some racers tried diligently to warn the public and did not catch those warnings. Start investigating when he kept asking for more money and delivery time slipped. Which I confronted him and the sweet talker he is played me like a fiddle. I have ported and polished two LT1 Iron Heads and an Exhaust Manifold. The Iron Heads I did worked very well on our Impala Pinks Car. FWIW on Sizemore's Videos I did learn a few things that were useful. My experience before Porting the Pink Cars Heads started with a phone call to Joe Mondello in 2010. He was very patient learning what to do without a flow bench. Then bought his premium Porting Kit and went to work and got great results. 2011 he published an article on Vortex Heads and read it thoroughly learning even more. My hope was to see how a professional would port them for a tow/bracket 383 engine for my Caprice wagon. Seems no one ports Iron Heads and was way too busy to do another set. Somehow $1500 project became a $2500 one. Ed ... I took a chance and got screwed. There is some poetry here. Do you know that Tommy Sizemore reads these posts? Dan |

Re: Tommy Sizemore - Cylinder Head RIP OFF
Nothing wrong with the tools, but who, that actually is very fast at the race track, are using his stuff? A guy that has not done that kind of work may watch this guy's video and not realize he is blowing some smoke as well. Look at who the really fast guys at the major races are using if you are looking for a shop to do your work. You also don't have to pay for the work up front, when they already have your heads.
Like the Street Outlaws on TV had one on the chassis dyno the other night. They just added two degrees more timing and picked up 200 HP at the tires. I guess some guys maybe don't know any better than to believe that one as well. |

You must be new at this game to say something like this? My car is legal so feel free to protest my car...anytime ! Put your money on the table. Hope to have one of the Baddest Pure Stockers in the Nation. Aiming to beat Mike Taylors awesome rocket and go so fast it will wipe your comments off this page. Hint ! Averaged a lot of 13.30's 2015. I know ... I may name my car the "Outlaw Street Stocker"!! In bold bright letters !! :o Have no problem taking abuse from those jealous of my fine Pure Stocker. Have gotten grief from the best of the worst on the Soccer field. So bring it on ! There is a predator out there that could have hurt you or someone else. Would you have had the guts to bring up an issue like this? Have a great Family Holiday Season. Dan |

Ed, Rarely get ripped off but this was one of those times. Lesson learned, heading back to tried and true sources. BTW send me an email to danfahey@dansources.com Have a racing issue to discuss with you. Dan |
Re: Tommy Sizemore - Cylinder Head RIP OFF
I did not post to say this guy was doing top of the line work but only that in the right hands some fairly old school type equipment could produce good results and did for many people and for many years. If I am trying to be the fastest guy out there or run with the fastest guys I am not looking to send my stuff to some unknown nobody. That's a given in today's racing environment.

Re: Tommy Sizemore - Cylinder Head RIP OFF
Dan--- for a little over $225 you can fly from Baltimore to Nashville--- instead of getting all worked up go visit him and maybe the proper authorities in Tennessee get your parts back and file charges all at the same time--FED 387

One of the others Racer also screwed by Sizemore on CR already drove by his place. It appeared uninhabited. Right now more important to focus on the next challenges. Yes I am smarting from the experience. But my family is so much more important. Got a lot of good stuff to focus on. Also have great respect for the drag racing community. Especially their genius, history and the friends I have earned. Time to drop this. Did due diligence to warn the community loudly! Hoping this time my experience and advocation sinks in. Have a great holiday season. Savor it. D |

Dan---you are right time to lick your wounds chalk it up as a bad experience and hopefully others will be forewarned and not have a similar experience----Happy holidays, and Merry Christmas to you and your family--Regards FED 387

Re: Tommy Sizemore - Cylinder Head RIP OFF
Sorry you got took Dan,I will have to see if I can check out these videos over Christmas break. Only money I take on work up front is for parts, you have 10-15 jobs going on is hard tie up my money in all those parts and if happen to get stuck with a job easier to sell it for labor you are owed and most likely customer will pick it up,even doing that I have about 15Klabor (been waiting 3-4months),parts are paid, sitting here waiting for people to come and pick up,going to have to sell their stuff looks like, which I will call them and tell them, first person shows up with amount you owe will own your stuff.
I did a set of the iron heads probably 12 years ago, have to see if can find those numbers was street/strip car,I do remember they were better with stock size valves, customer brought list of what he wanted printed off a website,2.02/1.60 valves was what they wanted,it took quite a bit of bowl work to get them back to where they were stock, then fully ported them, later did a set off a ZZ4 crate engine which is basically aluminum version of the same head, left stock size valves and ported them they were a better set of heads like that, flowed somewhere around 230@ 25''s. Any luck and my pure stock combo will be in the floor or with a new owner. Mike Taylor 3601 |

Lesson learned. Wow was hoping to get an opportunity to race you heads up. That would have been fun..! That ZZ4 is popular engine. Seems those heads respond very well with stock size valves. LT1 Irons surprisingly do even better. Have a great family and holiday season. May SANTA drop off some fast parts. D |
