Good morning gang - All I can say this morning is that the adventure continues as I've already had to repair the shower and now I've noticed the fridge in our RV decided not to continue working during the night - if we have a RV tech in the house please call me at 610 533-6393 .

So you want good news - here it is - the high heat that we had yesterday seems to have leveled off some - didn't need to run the AC during the night - what a relief ! ! This morning its a bit overcast but not nearly as humid .Temps today will only reach the mid-seventies .

Anyone know what time they'll let us in this AM ? Stock is out first today but that doesn't seem to be in my furure at this moment ....

Back a little later - since my post yesterday Ken has decided to click a few pics - maybe he'll try again this morning if he's not sleeping in ........

Even with my verizon hot spot we don't have very good internet . Stock has made their first run. Lots of wrong classes so it may take a while to post on DRC

Super Stock is also done for the day along with the Super Classes. They are running Comp, Top Dragster and Top Sportsmen as I type.

Here are some random photos of the day. I have three in car cams to edit. I should have them done later tonight so make sure you come back later and check them out.

Coming to Norwalk has been strange for sure .Not that its a bad place - its different for sure .Would you believe for instance they have two sets of scales / fuel check etc ? Really makes it nice when you get finished with a run .Then there's the roads - on one side its pretty much macadam and on the other its half and half .My pit for example is on the 1/2 and 1/2 side but is at the end of the track - quite a ride to the staging lanes - better charge up the battery because it will be hot when you get to the lanes .More on this later .

Had lunch with Roger & Pat Cook - he serves up a mean piece of grilled Kielbasa ( you Polish folks know what that is ) and as always there was plenty - thanks much to them .

Didn't have time to get many photos yet but I did get one of ' Yo Ken' at work and another of Ford guru Jimmy Ronzello enjoying some of Norwalk's famous dollar ice cream

Jack, I've found that sometimes the weekends that start off bad will many times end up good. Never know? You ARE due for a win!

Sorry folks, the internet was extremely slow. Uploading videos are painfully slow.

This in car cam is brought to you by Chris Holbrook in his 2014 Watson Racing Cobra Jet. Chris ran a 8.10 @ 167 on this pass

Re: "Live" from Norwalk 2014

Sorry everyone for the lack of reports, but the internet is awful. I'm sure most already know the winners and losers for the day.

I do have few observations from this week action. The COPO's were out in force, its great to see GM back in the game again. It makes for great competition with the big three. The weather in one word FANTASTIC !. I have never been to Norwalk in the summer with such perfect weather conditions. And as always, the fans are here in droves.

I did here some rumors going around about Ford and Chevy going full tilt on some nasty engine combos for the Factory Stock Showdown at Indy in the FS/B class.

I will try to get some more photos for second round and maybe a in car cam tomorrow morning, but I will be heading home in the afternoon. I hope everyone enjoyed the reporting for Norwalk, next national for me will be Indy.

Good morning all, its a chilly 53 this morning, but its going to be another perfect day with temps in the mid 70's with sunny skies.

Stock is out first at 8 and I will get some photos from this mornings action, but will most likely not be able to post them until I hit the road this afternoon.

I did find a few photos from yesterday of stockers getting paired up for first round.

Re: "Live" from Norwalk 2014

We left the track this morning about 7:15 before everyone got their cars out and we could get thru the lanes. Sorry I didn't post much, but with the internet service, it was a struggle that wasn't worth it!

If you are leaving there today and running thru Columbus and Cincinnati, BEWARE! The police are out in force! We have already seen at least a dozen or so. We are in Louisville now and it doesn't seem quite so bad in KY.

Norwalk is always great fun and this year was no different. I didn't get around and see everyone as much as I would of liked, but Larry ran off on the golfcart yesterday just when I was planning to go picture taking! I did get a few that I will post a little later.

All of us "Live" reporters were finally in one place, and I never saw Ken or Jack! When I did get out, they were not home!

Fireworks last night were spectacular, as usual! Aubrey and Reagan really enjoyed them as did the rest of the family. And the grandstands were full! And the campgrounds were full! The Baders know how to put on a show!

Well more later. Good luck to all who are left!

Well I am home now safe and sound. Larry dumped all of us out of the motorhome and went to the local track, Beacon Raceway, in Paducah, to run a Nostalgia and Muscle car combo tonight. He probably won't get but 1 time trial, but he wanted to go and support their program. Me, I am just ready to be home for a while.

I have a few pictures from Norwalk that were taken on Friday. These first ones were taken during the first round of Super Stock from the stands just before the eighth mile.

Here are some more photos from second round Stock and Super Stock Saturday morning.

Some interesting match ups for todays racing. Sal Biondo will be facing off with Bruno Massel. To Comp Eliminator World Champions battling it out in Stock, and the winner will have to face the always tough Craig Marshall.

In Super Stock you have Brad Zaskowski racing David Rampy, two top ten players in the national points battle. The winner will be racing Rick Decker a top ten player last year.

Look for an issue with the cooling system, or you may have it too lean. We were also parked down in the very last section of the pit. It's a virtually straight shot to the staging lanes, with only one little jog to make. The Stocker was at 125 degrees when I got to the lanes each time, right where I wanted it, and the Super Stocker I had to either warm up more when I got to the lanes, or not run the fan on the way to the lanes. (The first run, it did get to 160, but the water pump wasn't running at all due to a blown fuse. Thanks to Ciaravino who had a spare in the lanes!)

I wanted to say a big thank you to Eddie Bolton for this weekend. I broke the sprag in the trans on the first pass (one of the few things that wasn't new on the car this weekend!) I figured I was done for the weekend, and was trying to formulate plans to get it fixed in time for the World Footbrake Challenge at Bristol this week. After Q2 was over, he suggested that the car would still physically move, and just drive it down the track to scale and fuel check to get on the sheet, and then he'd put his spare in that night. My car is a #$*&^#$ nightmare to work on, but with a lift, the right tools, and an experienced transmission guy, Eddie made it look like a breeze. Thanks also to Terry Knott for the extra muscle getting the trans in/out.

Thanks to Ray Thurston for the pic! (and to Kenny for the other pics posted on this thread!)

Tidbit of trivia... the cars I ran in *Stock* were dialed 8.69, 9.40, and 8.70.

Re: "Live" from Norwalk 2014

For future reference for those going to a race at Norwalk, the cell service there is sketchy at best and horrible most times. My Verizon phone had good signal, but I have a dumb phone and don't need the 'net. I had several Sprint users at the Bud Gate telling me their phones were useless. The closer to the starting line it is, the worse it is. When I'm in the tower with all of the electrical interference I've got about a 50% chance of getting calls.
I stood at the Rt 601 (Bud) gate the whole weekend as "Bud Gate Traffic Control" and didn't see a single pair of cars go down the track.:( I did, however, get the occasional whiff of nitromethane when one the wind was blowing right when the A/Fuelers warmed up. :D
