Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
Well its raining hard enough to where I can't see my truck from my hotel room so I think I'll just relax for awhile.
|
Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
Ed, you might want to bring your boots there is lots of standing water.
|
Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
Track dryer is working. We seem to be in a long lull in the weather. Maybe in the pm, and as I type this it is sprinkling again. Maybe late pm.

Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
glad i skipped this one Rain Rain Go Away!!!!! at least your at a good track that you don't sink in the Mud like Houston.oh i forgot there was no Race There!!!!!!!
|
Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
Yesterday, I was waiting for sprinkles to quit on the starting line, and I was somewhat surprised when starter Mark Lyle came up to the car and chatted with me a bit. He seems like a great guy, and he seems very concerned about the well being and safety of racers. If you get a chance to talk to him stop by and tell him hello. I think when racers speak there minds about track conditions, they are no longer falling upon deaf ears.

Nasty, nasty, nasty here.

Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
Going to be a hurry up deal when it clears up.
At least I had time to figure out what happened to mine during class. Took my MSD box up to the MSD trailer to be checked. You can hear spark jumping inside. Car is loud enough I could not hear it there. Only sparked the coil erratically. Was driving my tach nuts. Think I'm ready for first round if it ever dries up. Edit: Just started raining harder again. Think it's about nap-thirty "up in here". LOL |
Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
It's official we will try again in the morning.

Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas

Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
Still no schedule for tomorrow. That ain't right. We at least need a clue.
|
Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
Jeff, the clue is, the first thing you'll hear tomorrow is, "stockers to the lanes!"
|
Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
Bill,
you are right. Still nothing. No rain in sight yet. Too dark to really tell. Showing 63 low 88 high sunny 0 % rain. |

Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
What a difference a day makes. Clear and cool looks to be .07 or .08 faster right now. Have to see when we go up. Stockers already running. First pair double breakout. Could see alot of that.
|
Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
So much for faster. I blew through the clutch and got my ***** whipped.
|
Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
Well it is a much nicer day today. Stock was anywhere from .07-.10 better on average. Super stock was about .07-.08. I won both r2 of stock and r1 of ss. We are supposed to run r3 of stock before pros but it's 9:45 and they are only in super gas. So, I anticipate that we will get pushed back to after the first session of pros, and it could turn into a long day especially with Alcohol here.

Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
Is Hagen Gary ok, see he came in contact with the wall?
|
Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
Looking at the results from 1st round of S/S, it looks like the track lacked traction for many racers. Good luck to all. Dyno

Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
Traction was awesome. I unloaded almost immediately. People that didn't make it down the track probably unloaded.

Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
Unless I am mistaken, this was Dennis Oliver's M/S - P/S 4 speed car for a zillion years. No telling how many trips it has taken down a strip.
Was always a very nice, well detailed car. http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps3fbc478c.jpg |

Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
Thanks for reporting Ed!
|
Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
Well I was one win light shy in each car from racing on Sunday. They were in serious hurry up mode trying to get everything finished. They are almost done for the night. We are heading out early in the morning. Good luck to everybody that is still in.

Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
I see drc is reporting Ed Wright won but was dq for going by the scales. Can't believe he would that intentionally. Hate to hear that.
|
Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
I would bet that Ed did drive by the scales on purpose...that way it puts the SS/B car back in. Ed really slowed on his second round win (like 6 seconds)....the SS/B car was late by about 1/2 a second, but broke out. What that tells me is that Ed's car was hurt and being the person he is, told the other guy "don't red light"....
|
Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
Wish it was something that heroic. LOL
I had problems with it very low on power in class run-offs. Extremely lazy, would not turn a tire. On the return road it sounded kinda like it was running on 4 cylinders. Inside the car it sounded like only the left bank was firing. I changed the MSD box and ECU. Sounded OK. Decided to have MSD check the box. They declared it bad. You could see it would not fire the coil consistently. They gave me a plastic-like card to write the RMA on to put in the box with the unit when I send it in. I decided to put the other ECU back in since I had never run the new one. Ran OK first round. Had a heads-up. Changed nothing 2nd round, ran bad again. I knew I was in trouble when I started it to pull into the water. Only hope I thought I had would be a red light. I looked for a win light about half track, nothing. Figured I was done. Never thought about Mr. Kent (very nice gentleman) breaking out. Did not look at the win lights again, was so frustrated I didn't even look at my time slip. Found out I won (and screwed up) back at the trailer. I ain't just real bright. Btw, everybody I talked to found track prep excellent all weekend. Those guys did a stellar job. I believe many 60' times were by the rear tires. Lots of cars straight up in the air. |
Re: Live from the AAA Nationals Ennis Texas
Ed...from my experience I would advise you NOT to send your MSD box in for them to test. A big waste of time and money. Toss it out or send it to the guy that posts on here sometimes that works on them.
