Re: Limited time offer!

Those early guys built their own stuff - your abilities can't handle doing that and finances dictate that you can't or won't pay someone .

Jack,I can do more than you think on my stuff.I'm just not a finesse guy, that I need some help with.I also now and always have done this on my own nickel, with the meager budget I have. Can you say the same? You always come unglued when I post my opinions when they concern criticism of NHRA.What can I say.
And yes,Stock will become a class with guys money. These new cars are + or - $30K
initial investment.we all can't afford that.So down the road it will probably become a country club atmosphere.Tea parties after a days racing and all that.
And that's my opinion.

Hey Ed, I always knew that is was a game for the better financed. But it's still fun to park with the Big Rigs with the Imperial Palace, and I believe we have just slightly a more fun time. But hey, you know this game is "how fast do you want to go, how much money you got". Thats just the way it goes. How much money you got Matyas? Can I have some spare change that you don't want?

This is my buddy Mike Jeffrey's Diplomat. Not the most popular car Ma Mopar ever built. (Unless you were a police officer) It's a Slant 6 2 bbl motor. It was a national record holder for a while, and was a #1 qualifier. It will still run .8 under most anywhere without breathing hard. I know he has way less then 15K in it, and he has a ball every time he takes it out.

A second seminar is already being scheduled for the graduates of the first that will take place in early Summer of this year but is filling up fast as Billy's kitchen seating is extremely limited ..................not to mention his fridge only holds so much suds .[/QUOTE]

Been there, done that ! Musta missed something though.
I ended up spending 10 Grand to be No. 1 by 2 tenths, when it wasn't necessary.
(better than spending 100 Grand, I guess)

I DO think I need a refresher course though. Maybe in June....

Better watch out. Once I get my tax refund I can afford to start on that 1955 Cadillac Series 75 Limousine project for U/SA. Do they have scales that go to 5300lbs?

OK Billy, after years of staying in the 4 cyl closet I am "Coming Out'. Yes it is true that I drove my Omni to the Budds Creek NHRA points race, changed the front tires to some low profile sticky ones, went thru tech in Z stock. ran under the index in my Sunday morning time trial (most don't remember Z/S or sunday tt's at a points meet)and drove the car home that night over 350 miles. AND IT WAS LOTS OF FUN AHHHH I didn't know coming out would feel sooo goooodddd.

It could be a refresher course for me because obviously I went off track somewhere.

true story and yes it was a stick, what else would you expect from me

Billy do I qualify for a seat ?

Very funny. Best post in a while. Sign me up for the class.
A little back door humor is fun for a change rather than all the bitching.

Mr. Nees,

Is there any possibility of a seminar class that covers the west coast rulebook? I feel it would be a big help to east coast racers who try venturing west in pursuit of expanding their horizons. If nothing else it would ease the pain when getting beat by a car that has modifications known only to members of the brotherhood of elite west coast secret society racers.

Re: Limited time offer!

Billy, Before I enroll, I just wanted to check something with the main campus. I have been hearing that due to the demand that you had already franchised your school? Heard that aa certain "transplant from the east coast"-now in Az. and having something to do with transmissions has the first West Coast school, and that one of your early students that is now a transplanted "yankee" doing something with printing and decal building in N.C.-as well as racing in some unkown sanctioning body has the first southern school? Just wanted to check on that before I decided if you in fact already have branch campuses-with possibly a better beverage selection? Myron Stutes Columbus,Ohio

Re: Limited time offer!

Myron, rest assured, there is only one Billy! Anything else is just a poor imitation. That's not to say that there aren't others, maybe even more qualified, who could do a similar seminar. Beware however of imitations wearing gloves in order to hide their "pastey white girly hands (especially in the N.C. area) and those that preach the word of turbochargers.

Billy: 2 Questions 1. Will your seminar include tuning tips at the beaver, Also is there any discount if I haul Himes butt up there , or is it cheaper without him. Rember it is funny him still trying to intmidate people. 2. Can i bring my Cadillac.....DD

Billy,

Would this be a good candidate?

Price looks pretty reasonable too.

FFFord and Fiat will never build anything that'll get into the class either!

Don: Just the thought of a road trip with you to Billy's is more then I can handle. The laughter and BS once we were there would rate higher on a BS scale than the radiation in Japan. It is not completely without reason if my finances turn around. If any one willing to donate I will tape the meetings...Donate to IWILLSPEND YOUR MONEY.COM you know the same web site your kids use. Vic,I never said it was a poor man's class.I never said it's been a rich man's class. It's turning into a rich man's class at the top now.And as mostly Ford is releasing cars/engines with bogus HP factors, aided and abetted by NHRA,it will become a rich man's class for those who will want to keep up with the "big dicks" for class supremacy.
The "little guy" will get hurt when enough of these cars infiltrate most of the classes and
heads up runs in eliminations occur.Getting beat in class is no big deal, getting whomped in eliminations by a bogus HP car makes it hard to justify the expense to go to national events.Do you see my reasoning now?

Re: Limited time offer!

Billy, while I can't afford to go all the way to PA for your Class, I do have a 6 cyl Jeep (1.5 under IHRA index) which could be available if one of those Pasty White Hands guys has a big checkbook and doesn't qualify for admission. I could even ENHANCE him with a new Engine and Trans an make him go maybe 1.75 under (probably only 1.4 inderNHRA R/SA) Might not work for some drivers, no electric shift, etc.
Good luck with the Seminar.

Larry,

The Slant Six Challenger can be run with the T/A hood but the Cuda cannot run the AAR hood as you very well know.
The Slant Six Shaker stuff is very hard to come by. Jeff Teuton might have some stuff in his shop.

Larry, In 1971 if you run the aluminum head you can run the SIXPAK and I'm pretty sure that the adapters are all the same in a B or E body.
