If it were a true GT car in super stock it would not be legal with a Chevrolet engine. GT does not allow crossing over engines from different manufacturers. IE. ford with a chevy engine. So unless they start a different class then we wont see them for a long time. I have heard that some racetracks are banning the EVs from running at their tracks.

Our local dragstrip stopped allowing EVs to compete starting last year. The tracks insurance company wanted specific training and equipment for the safety /fire crew to handle potential issues in the event of a crash or fire with an EV. Supposedly an EV battery fire is very difficult to putout, and creates tremendous heat. Considering that we only ever had 2 Telsas ever show up for 1 time, hardly worth the effort and expense. Imagine that the insurance costs would have also been higher. |
