We spent $4,000.00 plus a week off work for two guys to
protect our average going to Woodburn last week.

We spent more than that going to St Louis taking two cars there
a couple years ago to protect our average that time.

Oh yes Mr Jimmy I miss the good ole days of trying to protect the 350 245 hp flat top. Nothing left to protect now! You can run it like you stole it and you're not getting in trouble lol. I remember one year I spent a bunch of money and made some good gains like 7 hundredths and it was all gone before my first race because someone went 1.21 under taking over a tenth stripe lol.
Good luck M.J.!

My racing days are numbered BUT in all my years of racing I never understood the concept of spending so much TIME and $$ on a race car so you can add weight in the trunk....As Jared Jordan pointed out , some racers still don?t understand how the AHFS works…...and then there is Ralph…..LOL ….

Ya know M.J., I figured out a long time ago that there are Racers who just don't care how much they spend as long as they're the quickest. There are also Racers out there who know that their time is almost up and don't care how fast they go. Now, take a Racer who falls into both of those categories and you'll know why I decided to race odd combos and junk.

To be honest the AHFS helped my old car.

AHFS is Sure tough on one car or low count classes.

Will a hit to the '83 305 Camaro hurt my '80 Malibu 305 combo? Or is it considered a different platform?

Ya know M.J., not to go stirring any pots or anything but the '83 Camaro 305 HO (flat piston, big cam) that is the subject of this thread isn't an automatic only combo, it's a STICK only combo. 305/165 (F.I. combo) is auto only. Any hard-core Camaro guy would know that. But I won't tell! ;-)
