Found a new place to eat in BG. Lisa’s 5th Street Diner! Just had fish and it was wonderful! Will definitely be back!

It’s 8 am and 77 degrees and heat index is 77! I am sure that is not going to last long! But we will take it for now! About a 40% chance of rain this afternoon. It was so hot yesterday we didn’t get any visiting in but we did get some great margaritas courtesy of the Holts! Thanks Stan and Sheila! Supposed to start at 8 but running a little behind. Drying track from heavy moisture!

The race has been called until Monday at 9 am.

So here is our story for this week! Got home from BG Combo race last Sunday at 9:30 pm. Unloaded run around car, golf cart, and Dumbo. Pull Dumbo in to shop and put up on lift to try and find Larry's cell phone that he lost on Sunday afternoon. Evidently since we didn't have any peanuts for Dumbo, he decided to eat Larry's phone! It made 3 passes down the track at full speed. Larry had laid it up on the engine when he was working on something and it fell down and lodged on the lip of the inner fender. So after pulling off the plastic parts, there it was, just laying there! So phone is retrieved for a win!

Then on Tuesday we start putting food in the refrigerator and notice it is not working! So after calling around, he found someone in Elkhart, IN that repairs them. So we have an appointment on the Tuesday after Indy to get that repaired. In the meantime, Larry buys a dorm refrigerator and straps it to the dinette table, and we get a big ice chest and think we are ready for the trip to Bowling Green and Indy! Win 2!

Then on Wednesday, Larry goes to load the golf cart and it is dead! So a trip to Paducah to get a new battery and cables and stuff. So finally get all that fixed and loaded. Win 3!

Then get to BG late Thursday and it is HOT as blazes! Alice and Joe and Mike and Barbara have saved us a good spot so we deal with the heat for 2 days! Worst as I have ever seen at BG and we have been going there for a long time! Part 2 coming up soon!

Part 2:
So on Saturday around 6 we run first round of Super Stock, get beat and I figure we will load everything up and head to Indy first thing this morning. I open the motorhome door and realize it is not as cool as it was when I left it 45 minutes earlier! Sure enough, our generator has quit genning!! Throwing a Code 13, which could be anything! So we load up and head home 3 hours, the opposite way from Indy! So we get home around 11and sleep in our bed at home and Larry gets up this morning and starts attacking! So now he has figured out how to run the motorhome on the generator that is in the trailer (can run 1 AC). Weather is supposed to be really nice at Indy with highs in 70's until late in the week, so we should only need 1 AC at a time! We also have a small gas generator here from the tornadoes 2 years ago, so he has that up and running and bringing it with us too! So we will deal with getting the big generator fixed later!

So that is our week from HELL!

Now if we can just win some rounds at Indy, it will make up for all this grief!!

We should be on our way for the 6 hour drive in a couple of hours!!
