It's very sad to hear of Dave's death from this virus and to be just a few years older than myself. I was runner up to Dave in the 1999 IHRA Winter Nationals at Darlington, SC. Prayers for healing to his family.

I'm so sorry to say that Louie and Judy passed away this morning within a couple of hours of each other according to a post from their daughter Kelly.

Very sad news not only did we lose Dave but both his parents passed away today from the same virus. Rip guys. I was glad to call you my friends

Tragic for one family to lose so many from one disease. I can't imagine how the rest of the family feels and all their friends.

God, please give this family some comfort at this time.

And PLEASE GOD watch out for the rest of us during the coming weeks.

There is a FB gofundme page to help the family at this time understand they’re over $50,000 in out of pocket with another on ventilator, and 3 funeral expenses 😢😢😢 it’s all just unbelievable really not sure I’ve mentally grasped it yet. Keep them in your prayers 🙏🙏🙏 stay safe we can’t lose any more of the good guys ❤️

With all the money we're saving not racing, shouldn't be too hard for all of us to go to the go fund me link and donate a couple of bucks. I was just there and it's already almost up to $30k. I didn't know these people personally but what an incredible tragedy. Prayers to the family.

I'm with you Dan, haven't been lucky enough to waste any money on entry fees this year so I'm going to donate the equivalent of a national entry fee and challenge everyone to do the same. Saddest thing is in the richest country in the world GoFundme is the #1 way people have to pay medical expenses just doesn't seem right.
