Dan, you may want to read some of the other posts on this forum.
I think its been pretty clearly established there most certainly is tech.
Take a look at the posts about the recent FS supercharger inspections, for instance.

So there is kind of a tech at national events, just not a pre-race tech as thorough as in the past. A quota of 180 cars in both Stock and S/S makes a "mini tech" interesting when qualifying only allows 128 to race.

And will only supercharged cars go to tear down if there is a tear down?

Indy will as always be a special animal. My guess is a unique or uncommon Tech check will happen that has not occurred in a while. All racers should be on your toes.

If any one thinks there is no tech or teardown at Indy...Please go with your bogus stuff and try to win class...

It will make for some great banter here.

Winning class will get you a Wally and maybe a place in the barn....if there is any teardown. All it takes is one qualifying run with bogus parts to assure a spot in the 128 car field.

Go ahead and put that one bogus part on, see if you do qualify and lets review how you make out in the barn.

There is no tech as was in years passed. You don't have to unload your car and drive to a designated area and wait in line (along time at INDY) until someone looks at your car and then go get in the other line to get credentials. Tech is now a random checking of certain items. I won't be missing the "beating" they call tech at INDY.

Yeah.......

No tech / Fake tech
Free entry and unlimited crew passes
Coffee and donuts provided
Petting Zoo
Face Painting
Helium for the adults

There is a difference between "No Tech" and "Self Tech". When you sign your tech card you are certifying that everything you filled in is correct / accurate. If and when they find it different from what you have written down, they will bust your ***. Plain and simple. The liability falls on the shoulders of the person certifying the card - not the tech official.
