This isn't. I found it on the web:

Based on the above, you have a pretty rare car. An automatic hardtop HEMI represents less than 1/4 of %1 of the production run.

The 66 Coronet 500 4 door with the 426 HEMI is, indeed, in the NHRA Stock Car Classification Guide.

Dale

Not sure how a '66 Coronet 500 4-door of any kind is in the NHRA Guide since none were produced.

Stephen has 2 Hemi Deluxe model Sedans that he mentioned. All of the known 4-door '66 Hemi Coronets (4 total, 3 auto, 1 4-speed) are also Deluxe models. Not saying no base Hemi 4-door sedans were not built. They just haven't shown up yet...

NHRA is far from perfect. The 68 GT350 Mustang isn't in the Stock Car Guide. Below is what I found under Dodge 1966:

CORONET 500
Sedan 2 Dr Hdtp
Convertible 2 Dr
Sedan 4 Dr

1966 Coronet 4 dr sedan 425/426

Base--- Stock 8.67/Super Stock 8.19 -- Shipping Wt.----3686

440 4 door sedan---Stock 8.92/Super Stock 8.42 --Shipping Wt-------3686

500 4 door sedan----Stock 8.76/Super Stock 8.27---- Shipping Wt. ----3722

Now I don;t know how many were actually assembled but unless there is a ruling from NHRA I see no reason that the car cannot be run

I'm thinking of '65 then. I know there were none in '65.

Sorry about that.

As far as the actual '66 Hemi 4-door production. It's far greater than what is known. I think an in-depth search of the Chrysler microfiche records would shock many of the "experts." I have an eyewitness account of 4 matching '66 Hemi Coronet four doors that were at a dealer-only auction in August of 1966. None of those have surfaced yet. The original owner of my '66 Hemi Sedan went to buy one of those cars, but ended up buying the Sedan I now have instead. I have questioned some of the other people that were with him at that particular sale, and they also recalled the four matching four doors being there with Hemi engines in them.

About this paint rule:

Paint must be complete and professional. Driver or owner must have original receipt totaling not less that $3,000. Self painted cars will be booted.

Is this for real? Is this new? does it really say "Self painted cars will be booted."

1st, i think you have a letter in your possession that may have already banned you from competition.

1A if it is in the guide, run it.

2nd the paint will not be a problem if you clear coat it. PPG industries has a paint Patina package that sure looks like your car.

3rd, hitch looks like a bolt on, so that might be the only problem.

good luck, cannot wait to see this car run with a reher morrison hemi.

I still have that letter on the dash UNOPENED. So, I am here at D4 Belle Rose LODRS and will ask for a ruling on the 4 door 4 speed. More to follow!!!

If you type [-quote-] and [-/-quote-] without the dash marks you get this:

Forgive me, it's the Internet...

The only way you would be able to run that car with the trailer hitch is if it came with the 3 on the tree and had less than 100,00 miles at the time of the first tech inspection. There are TWO SCOOPS available though. The external modifications to the heads may be OK in this combo.

Re: 1966 Coronet stocker

Well race fans we have a good news bad news day to report. 66 4 door Coronet in the guide so game on. Bad news, car must be presentable so I MIGHT make a local points deal but NEVER a national event without a paint job and dent repair. So this thread is cooked 'cause I ain't painting or patching it.

PS -001 followed by a 000 with a clutch and you were in the laser business = extra tech inspection LOL.
