I pick A.
Except for $6,000 I have only been able to finish the rear end, wheels tires and brakes.
I need 7x that to finish the car.

Eric, thanks for the vote of confidence but at this point, I wouldn't cut up a 69 Camaro to go racing and none of my Camaros are for sale at any price(at this point).

Bill, as my good buddy Dave who retired to Mesa says "You can get that back around there, it is just that when you move it all the remaining structural rust will fall off of it."

Re: What would you build?

"D" Seems like it has more advantages, especially if it is a combination that is not popular.
(1) You can make it competitive in class without having to break the bank.
(2) You can develop a combination that is not so difficult to maintain.
(3) You can go fast enough to qualify at Indy if you want to.
(4) You don't have to worry about somebody outspending you or out-tricking you on technology.
(5) If you're smart enough to figure one out, you can be competitive ET-wise and race it for years - long enough to learn how to drive and go some rounds without having to financially keep up with the deluge of technology.

The big negative is that you probably don't get to go head-to-head and have the satisfaction of beating someone in a true contest. It's one type of satisfaction when you beat somebody in your own class, but it's different when you can beat everyone who has a combination just like yours.

(A) A car like you had in high school.
(B) A car that should run in the 12's.
(C) A 1969 Camaro with a 396.
(D) A car with a soft horsepower rating that should qualify anywhere.
(E) A car that fits a class that nobody runs.
(F) A car that has 6 other cars in the class in your division.
(G) None of the above.
(H) A car that has a soft index.

Sarcastic answer #1, Whatever Bob Shaw is building!
Sarcastic answer #2, I'd build 3 302 FFFords and give 2 to my friends!
Sarcastic answer #3, I'd wait for Hill to get the 86 Chevy Truck w/305 in the guide at about 190 HP and build one.

But seriously(yeah right), I think that I'd be going for D,E and H in equal amounts.

Already did it. Except it runs in the 11's.

Re: What would you build?

I'd give all my money to Mark Yacavone.........and Mike Graham. They could build something that goes like 3 seconds under with that kind of whopping budget.......

No pressure though.
