Re: NHRA Disqualifies Two Competitors during the Chevrolet P
With all the underrated hp thats out there, you still have to cheat. If that is the way , then stay the hell home

Re: NHRA Disqualifies Two Competitors during the Chevrolet P
The pulley was larger so it actually made less boost but was not the correct size for that year. I'm sure he will have it next time and be faster.

Several different pulleys, blower sizes for different year models. Surprising the tech guys can keep up with it all.

Re: NHRA Disqualifies Two Competitors during the Chevrolet P
Received this today:
I was reading the DQ at Indy thread. There is a little misinformation. Rodgers was running too large a pulley which in fact gives those motors more HP at high RPM according to Jimmy Ronzello who works for Ford on the Cobra Jets. The CJs turn such high RPM that the belt doesn't slip on the larger pulley at high RPM and ends up producing more boost than the smaller pulley. That is why they have a 120 lb weight penalty. |

Re: NHRA Disqualifies Two Competitors during the Chevrolet P
When he told me that, I remembered customers trying to make more boost on their street cars with Prochargers and Magnachargers. Higher load, and less belt wrap on the blower pulley did cause high RPM slip. You would know more about the Fords than I, that is for sure.
