Re: Class lane choice etiquette
Byes as opposed to lane choice are like apples and oranges. Who would be the logical choice to get a bye in an odd car count?

Re: Class lane choice etiquette
The fastest car would be logical, but if you read the rules about the other sportsman classes they get to choose the lane based on performance and also get byes when qualifying number one. This is why I would think it would be the logical thing to do, if you car is fast, you get rewarded for your performance.
I am all on board if the rule is to flip, so be it I will flip. |
Re: Class lane choice etiquette
I think the faster car should get the bye first round, and lane choice. But, since most are of the bracket racer mentality anymore, it's coin tosses.
I no longer ask which lane they want. I have my quarter out, if they don't, and ask them to call it. Some clowns want to know which lane I want first, then call that lane if they win the toss. Heck with that, don't indicate a lane until winning the toss. |

Kenny,
Different categories have different rules is the best I can come up with. The coin flip really seems to be the best way to go. I appreciate your candor. |
Re: Class lane choice etiquette
Tom, I understand how you feel. I was just thinking outside the box. I'm easy when it comes to rules like this, what ever the majority wants is fine with me.
Bruce, you know me I always like a little banter. |

When the starting line crew lets the starting line turn to crap lane choice can be important.
