Manual and automatic classes are separated! They do NOT run against each other in class eliminations!

Maybe I have this wrong and correct me if I am...but I am under the impression the new class runoffs run singles together no matter what the spread. So you could conceivably have an AA/SA against a AF/SA; both running against their respective indexes as a dial in. If that is so, what difference is it what transmission you have?

As stated before,sticks run sticks and autos run autos.I ran the combo at Englishtown and got my ***** kicked in the final,still was fun.That's the system they came up with,like it or not.

I think it's a good thing, at Etown this year we had 7 stick combo cars, that were reasonably close together. This made for some good racing and it was alot of fun. Felt running Modified Eliminator.
I won class at Indy in 08 in G/SA and had to race 4 rounds to win it. I received a small amount of money and a trophy. I had a blast doing this, and it is one of my most proudest accomplishments. Besides the trophy, the money I received just about paid for the gas and ice I used that day. What made it good was competing against the other cars. The reason we do this!!
The new way of class at least adds a level of competition that the guy that just ran for singles, or in a class that just had a car or 2 now and then. It isn't like he is getting cheated out of money. There is NONE!!!

The winner of your combo race with 7 cars (3 rounds) got 80 points. The winner of a class with 2 cars (1 round) in it got 85.

Good point Art, but do you know what. I don't let it bother me. I'm not chasing class points. I'm there to have fun. the only 2 places I'm going this year with class is Etown and Indy. I'd rather chase division points, or national points. We don't live in a perfect world, I'm just happy to race.
Art for a guy that has done a ton in our sport. The championship that you and Ray won. The different cars you have raced, I'm supprised you get so worked up about such things.

I am not talking about the money issue BUT it is not a true class win. Everyone here builds their car to a specific class. So at these specific races NHRA should not cheat them out of a class win trophy. The guys are paying the ever rising cost to participate in these events the least they can do is RECOGNIZE their efforts. IF they want to run them off in this insane way for small amount of cash so be it.

I think they're just cheaping out on the Wallys.Funny thing is in the last few years they were giving them out with reckless abandon.I think they were givin to fans during the
Pro driving demonstrations.Talk about diluting the product.
