Won't make any difference if it is 50 lbs over C/SA weight as Toby reported.

It will still make B/SA and will not have to change the weight

Frank ran an 8.997 which was 1.403 under the sea level index. It was 1.663 under the altitude adjusted index. 1.4 under the index received automatic HP last year.

Well, if it's true they can't get it any lighter, it will be a C only car next year because you can't weigh more than the minimum for the next heavier class. Once they get some more HP it won't be a problem though.

Re: Hp. On tuesday

That is what I am saying Toby

Give it 20 HP and it is a "B" car and it is already the correct weight

If it does not get HP- it moves down to "C" and will be an even faster "C" car to the index

Complicated sometimes to figure out what should be done

Of course I am hoping for a couple of FX classes with one for V10s only - LOL

:-) peace

The 12 HP that the LS1 received was returned, its back to 342 for the ram air/ss hood combo. However, it was not because it was at a factored track. It clearly states in the new rules that factored tracks are included in the instant hit when going 1.25 or more under. The LS1 was singled out when it was given the 12 HP (there were several other cars that went more than 1.25 under and did not get HP) This was pointed out and presented to the committee.

Okay, whatever the reasoning behind it, no cars got hp this year for running 1.25 under a factored index. I was one, Byron Setters, Angelo Phillips and a couple more.
Seeing it's still the same year, I wouldn't expect to see it happen.
Next year , with a revised or rewritten rule and a prominent warning, it probably WILL happen.
Then again, who knows?
