Angelo,

Thanks for posting that YouTube link of the old SS Footage.

From about 00:06 seconds through 00:58 seconds is video of my SS/BA car
at the very first race we went to with it after Tom Callis built it with a lot of Ed Quay
components, Heintz Bros. engine, ATI converter and Turbo Action trans. Rockingham
1992.

I've been looking for footage of that record run and unfortunate wheelstand/crash landing for a long time.

Carl - you're welcome......
I stumbled on that video while searching for something else
Definitely a rare find... especially anything involving sportsman coverage.
Multiple angles of your runs to boot......
Man..... You had to be in the air 200 feet on that 1st run

you tube is an amazing resource

There are a couple of more minutes of footage I posted on Part 2 SS Wheelie tape at the link below. At the end of this video there is a Sportsman Report with Frank Hawley and Steve Evans on SS. The event footage was taken by former SS racer Don Sofranko and I posted it since I thought others might enjoy it.

At 2:52 it looks like Mike Graham's GT 83 T-Bird. :)

I remember seeing that car when he first debuted it and wanted it bad.

Thanks to all for posting those links !

Hi Carl
You let me dub copy that video from you in 1992. I copied it camcorder to camcorder. That was at Indy, and you had just brought out the second bomb, to drop on the hemi's in SS/BA. Well you brought the bomb out for several years ongoing! The quality of your Rockingham film was very low when we dubbed that. I think you were thrilled to have film of the 1990 class win in SS/BA.

Funny how you lost your copy! I still have loads of early 90's SS action. I loved to film class runoffs in Indy every year. I could never understand why NHRA never made films of SS class. Its a perfect 90 minute package. Just pure film with no narration.

Most of that stuff is twice copied, from my original video work circa 1990 onward. There is nothing there pre 1990. I gave my pals like Pustelny, Westcott, Schaechter, Stealy, and others copies of that film. I shot most of it and borrowed film when people would provide it. I briefly sold that stuff before buying a Super L car.

I may sell copies of that stuff someday again. I am too busy right now to drag out the Super-VHS tapes. Its good the Schaechter's loaded it on You -tube. The best You-Tube video is still Fillipone's video! That is great quality sound!

Don, if Joe can ever cut it down short enough to post, he might be able to you tube the infamous Bill Sprague interview you did. That one is a classic!
