If your that worried about the cage, why don't you check it out personally. You seem to be an expert on everything else.

So that little engine is making like 900 plus horsepower.

It is probably closer to a 1000HP. The classification guide lists the coupe at 500HP with a shipping weight of 3220 lbs which gives it a factor of 6.44 making it a natural SS/A or SS/AA car (6.00 - 6.49). In order to run at the class minimum, 220 lbs would have to be removed from the car. Assuming that it was possible to do so, Hopkins would be at the same weight (3000 lbs) as the SS/AH cars. His ETs and speeds are pretty much equal to what a Westcott or Barton powered SS/AH will run, and I am pretty sure that they are right around 1000HP.

Re: Super CJ

The CJ in SS/AA trim has to weigh the same as a 4-speed SS/AH (3170) and is 40 lbs lighter than the automatic SS/AH (3210). In SS/BA the CJ weighs 3420, or the same as the Hemi B-Bodies.

The scary thing is that we still don't know how fast those cars can really be. Yeah, we've all got a pretty good idea, but what happens when one of those cars is back-halved and they can really lean on them in the first 100 feet of the racetrack? I have no idea what the 1st gear ratio is in those C2 transmissions, but all those cars look pretty lazy leaving the starting line in comparison to, say, Armstrong's Vette or Percy's Savoy.

One more thing: you think they've got the throttle blade all the way open? I don't...

Will Jamie and Jesse issue a recal and update the 2010 or the 2008?

I didn't add in the 170 lbs. for the driver (3170), so our math is basically the same. I have heard that they run the throttle blades only 56% open. Wow!!
