Re: Notice of Decertification for Impact Racing
Looks like if your products are new enough (2009-2010) you are ok. I still got rid of my belts. I am not taking a chance. But for others it may be way more money to replace more than just belts. This is good news for them.

Re: Notice of Decertification for Impact Racing
What's with the guy's signature from Impact having a winking smiley face? This is a legal document. Was this guy taking this seriously or not? Did he have his fingers crossed too while he was signing?
I've never purchased a product from Impact, and for me this was the nail that sealed the coffin shut forever. There's just too many incidents with Impact for me to seriously consider them as a supplier for my safety products (not to mention that their logo is gay - Oooooh...A lightning bolt...that must make them cool....) |
Re: Notice of Decertification for Impact Racing
Oh... my... god... He did -- he added a smiley face. He's signing a legal document that is likely to be saving their company from bankruptcy, and he signs it with a smiley face? The company clearly has absolutely no regard for the legal consequences of contracts. Wow.

Re: Notice of Decertification for Impact Racing
Talked to Impact yesterday regarding their policy on making good on products prior to 2009. The lady I spoke with said they are scheduled to return to court in 30 days in regards to these products and to contact SFI in regards to any information relating to the use of products beyond the April 27th desertification date

Bill Simpson is not a Joker, he is a businessman and maybe someone under him made some bad decisions, I hope it pans out to see that he had no knowledge or part. You ought to see some of my Dads legal contracts. His last , his will (and I have asked him to revise it with your reasons but to no avail) "My ashes to be scattered over a suitable body of water (NOT In a Toilet !)" Yeah....sometimes a serious legal document NEEDS some levity. |
Re: Notice of Decertification for Impact Racing
I've seen a lot of contracts, as a retired Fortune 500 exec, and nobody I ever wanted to do business with showed this kind of gallows humor.

Re: Notice of Decertification for Impact Racing
... being easily confused by any legal document....I have to wonder, does this include re certified belts? I would imagine so, but don't want to take anything for granted. (they were manufactured '07, recert 4 weeks ago)
As for the signature, this may be this person's usual signature. Dealing with rock stars and artists for 30 years, I've seen all kinds of odd legal signatures. No disrespect for the legal system is intended, they are just the person' attempt at being original. As for my 2 cent opinion, judging someone harshly because of a signature is pretty darn shallow. |
