Re: Live from the NHRA Gatornationals
The local weather man down here south Florida, says that there is supposed to be rain Thursday through Saturday in Gainsville, I'm hoping that they are wrong. It would suck to have a water nationals again at the Gators.

Scattered thunderstorms for thur and fri.....50-60% chance, sunny, warm and clear for the weekend.
What days and times are they planning to run stk and SS? JimR |
Re: Live from the NHRA Gatornationals
Robert, your a funny dude.
We are parked and already went through tech. Looks like a couple of hundred cars in line. As far as I know, everything is going smooth, plenty of room to park. Stock and Super Stock get three runs Thursday, with stock leading off at 9 am. Friday will be first round for Stock and Super Stock, I think we have a few rounds I will back later to confirm how many rounds for Friday and when we start. The sun is out and its in the mid 70's, feels great. I don't want to go back home, but you know how that goes. I will be back shortly with some pictures and more updates. |
Re: Live from the NHRA Gatornationals
Ken keep up the good reporting........

Re: Live from the NHRA Gatornationals
Just going over the entry lists for stock and superstock and if everyone shows, you've got quite an array of entrants and should all be in for some fun.... The "old reliables" and handful of the new (both Dodge and Ford) cars will be banging heads, just like it should be. I hope the weather doesn't end up being a factor for you Sportsman people later this week.....best wishes to everyone there. WJ

Re: Live from the NHRA Gatornationals
Wish I could be there, but I hope the weather holds out for it....
Would love to see some the new Dodges running against the new Fords...Sounds like a formula for HP being added somewherehttp://classracer.com/classforum/images/icons/icon7.gif Good luck to all, and I wish everyone safe runs, going as fast as they want to go! I have some more info on when stk and ss run. Like a said we get three on Thursday starting at 9 am, but only one round of eliminations on Friday starting at 8 am with stk.
As far as the weather, Thursday and Friday show a chance of a thunder shower each day, but not a continues rain either day. The weekend looks great. I took a picture of the sand trap. They have 2 nets lots of pea gravel, a NASCAR looking catch fence and what looks like you see on the highway, black and yellow plastic drums filled with sand. |

Here a few more cars waiting in tech. How about Bruce Kerber's G/SA Corvette, this is once nice stocker. The golf cart in the background is mine, but I think Bruce needs to upgrade his pit vehicle, what do you think. Bruce said his buddies from Minnesota would help him upgrade, you guys need to come through for him.
Big Daddy in tech, looks at home in Stock. I'll be back tomorrow with more from Gainesville. |
Re: Live from the NHRA Gatornationals
Keep the pictures and updates coming. Really enjoy ya'lls comentary and pictures. Can't wait till ya'll get to Charlotte. Are there many of the sportsman guys crossing over to IHRA for the race in Rockingham next week-end? Might still make it down, but need a more positive forecast before I drive 6 hours to take pictures.
Good Luck to everyone. |
Re: Live from the NHRA Gatornationals
