Good luck to you both.My best friend and i ran Kinston Drag Strip for about 3 years after Shade Aldridge got out of it .I'm talking 1/4 mile days(telling my age now!) Man it is not easy and you will never satisfy everybody at the same time .I know you will be good at it since you are a racer too.If anything i can do to help let me know.Hope you stay IHRA and continue to have the divisional race ,and still let me work it. Again GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

Herb,
Congratulatons and the best of luck to you and your brother. In my part of the country (central IL) we have a local dirt track, been there as long as I can remember and I am 49. I don't follow that racing and it had gotten kinda "bad" looking around there the last couple of years. Last year there was talk of it being it's last. Enter NASCAR racers Kenny Wallace, Kenny Schrader, and Tony Stewart. They purchased the track and have breathed some much needed life into the old place. The main thing I have seen is the attitude of the racer and fan toward this. Appearences are a little slow in changing, but I have faith they will and I believe that they will have a very strong business in the future. My point is that it seems the racers invested and believed in the "grass roots" of the sport and are behind it. I recognize your name (and a good one it is) in Drag racing and feel you are headed in the right direction. Good luck. Cyclone FE |
