Re: Division 1 VMP LODRS schedule
600 miles is a long way for a two day race. I wish Div.1 would back to back some Nationals and Divisionals like they do at Phoenix and LasVegas. At Richmond we could all go hang out at Sterling's house for the week. lol

Re: Division 1 VMP LODRS schedule
They did the same thing last year but it was not planned that way. It was scheduled for Saturday and Sunday but due to expected rain on Sunday they ran it all on Saturday. I think it's a much better schedule. I really like seeing all the stocker rounds in one day....Not spread out over 3 or 4 days.

Running 2 events back to makes too much sense, Look what happen at Maple Grove 2 years ago It was GREAT,Looked like INDY 140+ cars qualifying |

Re: Division 1 VMP LODRS schedule
I wouldn't miss work on friday....I leave after work and drive through the night on friday, race on saturday and sunday... home for sunday/monday morning and not have to miss a days work...a little sleep deprivation never bothered me....I'd rather be dead on my feet at work than not there at all.

Re: Division 1 VMP LODRS schedule
I would have to agree with joe in this economy work is more important . Maybe saturday& sunday events would get the car count higher . ?

Re: Division 1 VMP LODRS schedule
This is why the East Coast Stock/Super Stock races are so much fun to go to....Dave Ley runs a great race and you don't have to miss work.....NHRA should think about this...the economy is tanking....I'm sure racers that have to work on fridays would like to be at a race for the full event (sat/sun)....some people that have to work on friday might not bother making the trip for a race that's over the day they show up.

Re: Division 1 VMP LODRS schedule
Hey Joe......
Does anyone remember how we got to this point? Let's go back 25 years....... Race was on sunday only (with a sunday morning time trial). Saturday was a time trial day (for those that could make it on saturday). Then...... somewhere in the late 80's (i'm guessing), some track decided to have a test and tune (and parking ) on friday. That turned into a three day points meet shortly after. I hate racing on fridays too..... but I do like getting home for church on sunday! tom sheehan |
