Looks like it's been driven on some of our fine highways here in the Northeast! ....Seriously,Ive never had more than a little surface oxidation in the rotors, but my cars are always in a heated shop, or an insulated trailer. .....Tom

Scott,

Take Mark's advice and call Roger. I have had all brands on different cars in the past. All had different problems! Lamb Disc Brakes are the only brakes to buy. The quality and service is second to none.

Re: Strange Brakes

I completely understand what you guys are saying about Lambs, I have read, looked, asked and heard many good things about them. Being 22 years old, its all baby steps for me. I began building the car at 14 and now am trying to slowly bring the car to a higher level. I contemplated buying the lambs, almost decided too but just can not see spending 1,600 dollars on front brakes when i have been running on stock drums just fine.

I see it kind of like the cell phones theses days, back before we had them or when they were very expensive, noone had them, they would call on a house phone, write a letter, etc. once they got a cell phone they cant see life without it.

I feel the strange will be a great step forward and will be economical also. If things go as many have said they will, the brakes should bolt right up and be a night and day diff over my stock drums. Thanks again guys!!

Scott...here is a picture of one of the Strange rotors that was on my Racetech dragster. http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o...8/000_0420.jpg From some of the replies I have gotten about them over on DRR.....this is not that unusal. Wilwoods also have a reputation for rotor problems. I installed Wilwoods on the front of my Firebird and they worked well. Everyone agrees...steel rotors are more prone to problems than cast iron. I think you would be fine with Strange or Wilwood but you have to keep an eye on them and the more aggressive you are at the stripe...the more likely you might have problems......Drum brakes are cast iron and can soak up a lot of heat and not warp......Just my 2 cents......
