Re: Help from any FORD racers..
Your 347 should easily run low 10"s
Try a roller with 270 deg @.050 ex 278 @ .050 108 lobe sep. a converter that flashes to at least 6000 5.43 or 5.67 gear Be careful of the hamburger pan. The pick up is typicaly way too long. The ford pump tends to cavitate. |
Re: Help from any FORD racers..
Freddie keep the C-4, the gears depend on the rear tire size, I run 14/32s and a 5.14 gear shift @ 6600 and gone thru @7500 .60 ft has been as quick as 1.28 The mechical roller is a must.

Re: Help from any FORD racers..
Thanks again guys, I cannot tell you how much it means to me to be able to ask questions on here, and have valuable responses from racers.
For now it looks like I will be trying to run SS this year, we came accros a combination that will utilize most of the parts I have already and only need to make minor changes to the car ( change out the k-member and lower a arms) otheriwse the car is ready. The motor I have been running falls into GT/MA with a 12.05 index so I figure with a GOOD c-4, and the right converter, and some more gear in the car. I will be looking decent. I k now it will not be way under, but this motor with the bad C-4 has gone 11.98 with the 3.73's in it, so I figure changing to a 4.30 or a 4.56, and a well built trans should get me maybe 11.4's. I will be estatic to run .5 under my first year out. |
Re: Help from any FORD racers..
If you were to ever decide to go to go to a big block, I have a 532 cid internally ballanced short block that I would be willing to sell at a reasonable price
