Re: Finishing the Dutch on Monday?

I think it was a good call as well. I have a friend that has a hemi car and I have been to the Dutch with him, and I remember the moisture there in the evening. I have been at Beaver Springs when the fog was so thick you could'nt see the cars after they went past the 330'. Safety has to be an over riding factor in all of these decision.
I really just started this post because everyone seemed to be judging the actions last weekend at the Rock, while saying nothing about the extension of the Dutch Classic.

Re: Finishing the Dutch on Monday?

The decision should have been expected by anyone who was there on Friday. The 2nd qualifying sessions for Comp. Top Dragster, and Top Sportsman were cancelled because they could not finish them before sundown. Quite a few times, the announcement was made that they could not run after sundown due to unsafe track conditions. With the number of rounds remaining in all categories yesterday morning, it should have been fairly obvious that they were not going to be able to complete the race before sundown. Safety always should be the top priority.
