Of Northwest Stock Racers these 3 names jump up immediately for me: Method, Queahpama, and Kost. Seems Heaven's entry list keeps growing. Although Bill & Calvin are not with us right now, the same can't be said about their spirit and respect.

Rest In Peace.

I'm saddened to hear that. He was an institution at the Div 6 races, he always ran really well.

For instance.... this is the race where Bobby DeArmond ran the "9", Cal outqualified him.

Cal was mentor, a customer, and mostly a friend.
I'll always consider myself lucky to have known Cal Q...

Definitey one of the nicest poeple I've ever met in life, or in racing.

"Rest In Peace" my friend, your family is in our prayers.

We are saddened to hear of Cal's passing. We feel very fortunate to have been able to spend some time with Cal away from racing having a meal and discussing a broad scope of topics. I will miss that a lot.
You will go a long way in life before you meet nicer people than Cal and his family.

Cal only came west a few times, but meeting the big man was a treat.

only a fellow 283 wagon racer could really appreciate how fast he was with 4000 lbs & a powerglide, not to mention the lil ole 4gc in the air he usually ran in... and he NEVER got to use the bogus 459 327 intake!

hope the family has the same peace as cal now has

Re: Calvin Queahpama passes

I know this is a bit tardy, but I did not know Cal had passed until I heard Bob Frey mention it during yesterday's Sportsman show from Seattle. Rest in peace old friend, now you and Conrad are together again.

I ran into Cal in 2007 or 2008 and he filled me in about Conrad. I went to high school with Conrad, and he was one of the influences that got me started into drag racing. Cal mentioned that he had quit racing regularly after Conrad died, but had come out to the track for a combo race and mostly to see old friends. I'm guessing that must have been one of his last races, I'm glad I got to spend some time hanging out with him.
