Ok, So here's the scoop if you haven't already heard.........

Friday 7am: My car decides to let itself out of the trailer after the winch came off unbenounced to us. And of course I had to be pitted on a hill so the car took off like a rocket across the pit road as my father & I chased it before it crashed into the back of a trailer. After I stood there in complete shock for a moment I walked around the other side of the car to find my father on the ground with his foot caught under the slick. Now I have to RUN back to our trailer & get a jack to lift the car up so he can get out. Cosmetically the back of my car is a MESS! & the guys trailer door didn't look to good either to say the least.

8am: Hammer Time! We looked like a NASCAR team (Hence; Thank you Billy Leber for the rivots!)

8:30am: We discover one side of the locater bar layin on the ground and the rear end has completely shifted to one side! The bracket had fatigued & I'm assuming the impact of the crash caused it to break completely off. At this point I'm pretty much ready to call it quits & pack up & head home. After about 2 hours of trying to figure out a way to either weld it back together (Hence; Thank you Chris D) or find a new bracket. Durring this time I ran into Scott Steiner in the staging lanes who suggested I go to the tower & have them make an announcement for a bracket. (O ya, missed the 1st time trial durring this circus act)

10am: "Marc Caruso to the tower". How about some lady had not 1, but 2 of them and as we're walking down from the tower another guy rolls up with one.

Noon: The calls out for 2nd time trial. We roll up as the last pair are doing there burnouts......10.903

Saturday Noon: My Generator in the motorhome decides to quit. And of course its not on a sliding tray, so it has to go to a repair shop! (Hence; Thank you Tom & Lynn Hoosigan for the generator & Matt Schurman for the repairs)

Sunday 11am: While checking valves my starter decides to quit! Just as I'm getting ready to drop it & put a new one in....."Super Street 3rd round to the lanes". Talk about keeping your fingers crossed!

......& the rest is history! I don't believe I left anything out, it was a crazy weekend!

Thanks Again Everyone!

So you will have to win the next 3 points races and a National Event just to break even?

IF HE'S LUCKY! LOL...

Marc, sorry about your misfortune. But, you know what? 5 years from now you won't give a crap that any of this happened, except for the fact that it will make for a better story when you're telling people how you won that first Wally sitting on your mantle.

Honestly, its amazing that you were able to do as well as you did considering the circumstances, but its funny how those things happen. When I won Maple Grove a couple of years ago, it was a clusterfock of a weekend. But, I think all the things going wrong (including trying to entertain my 8 month pregnant wife who was also taking care of our 8 month old daughter) kept me from being able to really concentrate on the racing aspect of it, and instinct just took over.

Granted, I would MUCH rather have the nice calm weekend!

Anyway, sorry again, and I hope that the damages don't hit you in the pocketbook too hard...

Marc....your generator is all repaired. I do most of the repairs on these units at R&J with Matt. I tested it today and it should be back in your MH tomorrow or friday......Adversity sometimes is good but you had more than the usual amount. Another piece of information.......The engine in Scott Steiner's car was originally mine and I built it. It seems to be working well for him.....Maybe we will meet at Englishtown......I will be racing in S/C with my dragster........Rich
