I haven't been on here too much this weekend. Not much going on in the rain and not sitting and talking much. But I must say that we have been treated by all the people we have met this week very well! Not at all like 20 years ago! I want to say thanks to Dan and Jan Lynch for the cookies he brought over for us! They were very good! And then Harper Welker's Dad, Matt brought us some t shirts today! Thanks Matt!

I didn't take many pictures since I was inside the motor home trying to stay dry, but I will try to do better for the Dutch this week!

We run at 8:30 or so in the morning and it is supposed to be a beautiful day! We did see the sun for a few minutes this afternoon for the first time in 4 days.

A couple of bad things about here though. I think Tom said something about this also. No PA or speakers we could hear
from our pit! And the radio station did not work. The same thing happened at St. Louis last weekend! So what is with this? You would think with all the entry fees from everyone here that they could afford to fix these things. And then we go up to watch the Pros, (which we don't usually do) and the right scoreboard was not working!

So anyway!

I have to say this is one race that I have always wanted to go to but I think maybe I will wait to see if they change the time of year they run it. Hey how about a switch with Bristol??
I was thinking of coming up for the Dutch this weekend but it appears we may have some company coming our way in the form of Hurricane Matthew, maybe I will do a "Live" from Jim Cantore style!

Good morning and welcome to the Dodge 'extended stay' Nationals - At 8:45 this morning we'll try again to run the Sportsman side of this race as the Pro's finished last night along with the Alcohol cars - all that and even Comp is down to two cars .I can't say I haven't had fun but on the flip side it'll be nice to get back to my office - the moment I win or lose this race it's back there for me and it won't come soon enough .

As I sit here enjoying some tea and Biscotti I look back on the last five days to thoughts of the friends I talked to and spent time with and the new friends I made - this sport isn't just about cars or even racing .I wouldn't trade that time for anything.I must go home soon anyway as I'm out of clean underwear - yeah, I know - way too much information .

All that and the boss will be here along with Larry&Patsy to keep you folks up to speed on who is crowned champion of the 2016 Dodge Nationals .

Round one coming up ............

PS- Late last night the 'Kingpin' and Mark Markow pulled in - late for the Nationals but very early for the Dutch .
