Re: "Live From" NHRA 4-Wide National
I figured they might try to save some track drying time, and just send stock out there as the Official Track Dryers of the NHRA.
This has been a great race. Since we hadn't been out since Pomona, I was starting to have withdrawal symptoms. And I have been able to meet some great new folks, met Michael Beard amongst others, and we are pitted near Bubba who is a genuine treat. And we get to visit with lots of other friends, like Jim and Pam Marshall, and Jimmy Perrone and Karen. As a quick aside, it occurred to me last evening as I was finishing an adult beverage, that Charley Bob is driving a Mustang... So does that make his car a Charley Horse? OK, maybe I had too much adult beverage last night, but I can assure you that I wasn't alone on that score... David The New Hemi Guy |
Re: "Live From" NHRA 4-Wide National
....Aaaaaaand Reinhart says, "as long as nothing else falls from the sky..." Which of course was followed by a light sprinkle.
At Beaver Springs one time, Beaver Bob announced, "The following is NOT true: That's it, we're done for the day, cancelled". Boom, the sun came out. Works like a charm! :) Unrelated notes: - I was impressed with Jack Zimmerman's run in class. Overshadowed by Lynch, but noteworthy of its own. Great runs by Boburka, too. - Shout out to the guy doing the parking and pit-side class calls via golf cart. Nice, friendly, and a good attitude, just like Cowboy from Bristol. Need more like them. Most just have a stoic businessnesslike demeanor, which isn't a bad thing. - Windy! Not raining hard, but an intermittent sprinkle that's going to hamper drying efforts. - Good one, David! I'd like to do the lettering for that one! |
Re: "Live From" NHRA 4-Wide National
It does look like Zimmerman and Boburka have been sharpening their butter knives, with Jim's sharp enough to cut the mustard this time.
Jim's 1.295 , 60'; 3.966 330' and 8.264 1000' looks like you could have run 9.94 @ 130 and change. |

Okay folks, here is the in motorhome camera. This just happen a few minutes ago. As you see by the pictures the sun is out right after the heavy rain, but I do have some river front property.

Re: "Live From" NHRA 4-Wide National
Well folks this will be my last live report. It has been blast as always and I hope you all enjoyed the reports. My race with Caleb was tight, but he got me on the tree and left me no room at the top. If this young man continues to drive like this, there is no doubt he will have many wins in his future.
First round for stock was a tricky one, the numbers showed it was slower, but the 10mph plus tail wind canceled that out. Below is the in car cam featuring Robbie Hudlow and racing one of Class Racers live reporters Michael Beard. So long for now, my next my next national live report will be E-town. |
