Re: Prayers for the Helms family are needed!
Scott worked for himself out of my shop when he first came to houma and we became friends.he was a HARD worker and could work on anything from motorhomes to lawnmowers.he loved his family most of all kevin and his mom and sister.he talked about them all of the time.he worked for the southland group then on to O'Reilly auto parts group where he quickly made it to store manager.life was just starting to turnaround till his passing.i talked to scott sunday at the track i never thought it would be my last. this is so sad for his family and friends.but look on the bright side he and tim are resting now after they both worked so hard.and like i want to think god had a misson for him. RIP SCOTT.you were one of a kind.

Re: Prayers for the Helms family are needed!
We met Scott at the 2006 Bradenton LODRS after Jim Marshall won stock. He introduced us to Bubba Burgers. Never forget how hard he partied and shared his food and drink. RIP Scott! We only met you that one weekend, but it left a lasting impression! Our prayers and condolences to his family and friends.

Re: Prayers for the Helms family are needed!
What a sad day for the racing family. Scott was one of the most passionate people about class racing that I have ever met, no matter what class he was running. Always looking ahead and wanting to enjoy some time racing and doing what he loved. I am sure glad I got to catch up with him at Belle Rose this year, and listen to his plans about future racing. Kevin- he was your biggest fan and always made it known to everyone how proud of you he was. Very sorry for your loss and rest in peace Scotty.

Kevin I know what your going through. It was hard for a few years knowing that the one that pushed you harder to be the best you can be at racing is gone. The one that you had so many tough and exciting times with. The fire inside me was gone. I didn't wanna race anymore, I didn't wanna be at the track because he wasn't there. My inspiration on who I wanted to better was gone. It took me three years to finally be comfortable at the track. Now my passion is back and I'm trying to be the best I can be. Words are only part of the healing. It's the memories that will carry you on. I know this was off topic, but losing a brother is hard to imagine. Koppien Family. |
